"How about up there?" D'nel said, pointing to a nice pair of seats near the front of the Stands, where they would have a good view of everything. He led the way up the steps, keeping one eye on the eggs. He had bets lined up, of course. With different people, he'd bet that green, blue, or brown would hatch first. Most of them had guessed bronze, optimistic fools that they were. Even as a bronzerider, he didn't believe the stupid belief that a bronze first meant good luck.
So he was rather pleased to see the dull green make her way onto the sands. "Yes!" he grinned, allowing himself a moment of pride beyond the usual polite mask he wore. Remembering Srunae, he gestured for her to sit down first and then slid in beside her. A bronze was second to hatch.
He's rather small,[/color] Nadornith said with a snort. "Nadornith is rather unimpressed with the hatchlings...what about Danovelith? She must be looking forward to her own clutch," D'nel said, attempting to make small talk while they waited for more eggs to hatch.

Rat joined the other candidates, hopping slightly from foot to foot. Shards, it was hot here, even worse than during the Touching. Made him wish for a cool ocean breeze. He didn't have time to dwell, however, because the first eggs had just hatched. A cute little green and a handsome bronze.
"Yeah, definitely exciting," he echoed Ledar's words. "Is this your first Hatching?"
Before he could get an answer, however, the bronze had Impressed to the other boy. "Hey, congrats!" Grinning, he watched the next egg hatch. His smile faded when he saw that the brown was limping. He wasn't sure what was wrong with the hatchling, but it didn't look good.
