The Touching had occurred about a sevenday ago and by this time everyone in the Weyr was eagerly awaiting Hatching day. It was shortly after noon when the humming started, reverberating throughout the caverns and tunnels. Most every rider took up the task of carting people up to the hatching cavern on dragonback while S’bol hurried the candidates along excitedly as they rushed in from their various chores around the Weyr to stuff themselves into their robes, reminding them all of the obvious fact that they might very well be made riders today. R’zon and the massive Brown Leviath waited outside the candidates’ quarters to help carry them up, with his sister Talaria and her Green Tanith to help as well.
K’zen was about to mount up Pavalenth, even though the weyrlings were still forbidden from riding their dragons for another sevenday or so until their first manned flight, when his mother showed up to pick him up with her Green Verdath. The Blue took to the air on his own as his rider followed behind on his mother’s Green. Zenelle had offered another weyrling a ride as well, one of the other Blueriders, Z’kar. His Blue Laverauth followed his Blue brother at a more leisurely pace.
A’zael and Fath arrived at the Hatching cavern fairly early on. Fath apparently enjoyed hatchings very much, even if there weren’t any prettyshiny Gold eggs for him to ogle. He was quite fond of hatchlings and was excited to meet the new dragons. A’zael took up a place near Talera, offering her congratulations on the hatching of her Gold’s first clutch. Even as he did so, a few of the eggs began to rock harder, pieces of shell falling away from one in particular, though in the rush of getting everyone to the cavern and finding good seats, no one really noticed just yet.

OOC: Feel free to have your candidate hop a ride on Leviath or Tanith (Leviath can take about 4-5 people, Tanith can take about 2-3). You can have them rushing in from chores after the humming starts and also say that S’bol’s Blue Nesporth sent them a message to hurry and come get their robes and what not. Also have them arrive at the cavern and take their place on the sands. If you have a weyrling that wants to attend they’ll need to hitch a ride as well as they haven’t flown on their dragons just yet, and of course any other non-rider will need a dragonrider up too.
