APPEARANCE: Milo will tell you straight up he is one sexy beast. Not really tall, but not short either, he comes in at a rather nice five-foot-eleven or so, slightly taller than many females but shorter than a significant amount of the men he's met. Which is exactly what he likes, to be fair. He says he' fits in' perfectly that way. He carries himself with pride, obviously comfortable in his own skin, and he has a habit of touching people- not, like, in a weird way, he's just very physical. He'll put his hand on someone's back, touch their wrists, run a hand along their sleeve- it's just the way he is. He can always be found gravitating closer to others. Milosha always seems purely cheerful, and he wears his emotions on his sleeve- sad, and you'll know it, happy, you'll know it, mad, and you'll have a fist in your face.
Milo is... pretty decent looking, actually. He's got faintly tanned skin, cool gray-blue eyes that are incredibly expressive, and dark brown hair that has a habit of falling all over his face no matter what he does. Luckily it's curly enough to usually stay out of his face if he keeps it short. It's mostly, just below his forehead and parted to one side or another. Everything about him screams 'warm'- his expressions are open and genuine, his posture is always comfortable and inviting, and he always seems to be smiling. He usually forgets to shave, so he's usually seen with a thin bit of stubble on his face, somehow only adding to his cheerfully fuzzy look. He's not incredibly muscular, but he can hold his own in a fight and if he took off his shirt, you'd see some definition there. And yes, he'd be happy to take off his shirt if you asked. (Please insert a flirty grin here.) He's just kinda... sweet-looking. While he's perfectly capable of giving you the stinkface he is most often seen with a sunshiney smile on his face.
He's got a scar on one arm, just under his biceps, actually from stealing the eggs he and his half brother acquired their flits from- the mother didn't take kindly to him and went for his arm. He thinks it's pretty cool looking. It's about the only really noticeable scar on him. His features are not sharp at all, though definitely male, with a softer yet squared chin and a strong jawline, and he thinks he has a big nose. He doesn't, really, but he's also a proud little flitter, so take that with a grain of salt. He just doesn't have thin features, and he definitely could never pass for a female.
He's fond of bright colors, usually blues or greens or grays or things that bring out his best features- he likes to look nice. In fact, he's a little bit of a peacock, and loves it when people take notice of him. He's more than happy to show off a little, and will often wear clothes that flatter his features. He's fond of open-necked shirts, loose sleeved button-downs, bright colors and patterns, and necklaces. He loves necklaces. who in the world knows why, but he does. He'll virtually always be wearing one of some sort. There's no real rhyme or reason to them, but he likes the feeling of having something around his neck. And he's absolutely NOT ashamed of being unclothed either; he's perfectly confident in his skin, and if you have a problem with that, well, really, you should learn to knock. Or... you know. Join him. Either one.
PERSONALITY FAULTS:
He loves to talk, and can often be found speaking aloud to himself if he's alone just to fill the silence. Still, he's also remarkably good at hiding things. For as much as he talks, he doesn't really say anything. He's open, but there are so many walls up around parts of him that no matter how many doors he appears to open to you, he's always got the things of real substance hidden away. It's odd, because as far as anyone knows, he doesn't exactly have secrets to keep, but nevertheless, He's got an odd sort of aggressively open defense mechanism going on. He tends to use his good humor as a wall; it's really weird, but he absolutely has a habit of hiding behind his cheerful attitude. He wants to keep his own issues out of other's lives. He would never try to be so presumptuous as to impose on you; nah. He'll be fine, just...let him have a freakout in private now and then and he'll bounce right back to smiling. (He would never let anyone see his grin falter for any reason. If you DO see him cracking? Something is really, really wrong.)
And...well. It's hardly a 'good' trait' (well, according to some) but it should absolutely be noted. Milosh is completely open about his preferences, and his preference is sex. He's ...er. There's no real polite way to say it, but he's
Does he possibly have a habit of trying to fix emotional problems with physical intimacy? Possibly. Again; he's never been in a relationship longer than a few weeks, so he couldn't say for sure. (But... yes. Yes he does.) He's surprisingly bad at expressing his feelings, so he will try to get them across in other ways than verbally; presents, kisses, overt clinginess; or yes, physical gratification. It's... not the best way to get his point across, but it's about the only one he's figured out. He's also kind of a slave to his emotions, if that makes sense? What emotions he feels he feels very strongly. So happiness is this endless joy, but sadness is a crushing sort of depression, and anger is this fiery, violent thing he needs to claw out of his system any way he can. Makes him somewhat difficult to be with sometimes.
And he's really easily manipulated. If someone told him to do something, he could laugh it off and say no. But if there were even a little bit of an emotional connection- a 'It would make me really happy if you did this for me' instead of a 'Do this thing because I told you to' he'd drop anything to make someone happy. He seems to be a little bit of a pushover in that area, apt to folding if it means someone he cares for will be happy because of something he does. Up to and including something that might negatively impact himself. He'd give you the shirt off his back even if it meant he then immediately got threadscored, just so it meant you did not get hurt.
* Ironically, pretty easily manipulated given his desire to please people. (Though he'll be pissed if he figures out he's being manipulated.)
* Has huge problems confiding in others emotionally.
* Has incredibly bad coping habits. ('Fixing' bad feelings/emotions with something physical/temporary just to feel better for a little while, regardless of the long-term effects.)
* Tends not to think in long term; never plans ahead.
PERSONALITY STRENGTHS:
Milosha is a happy, relaxed guy. Really, that about covers his entire personality. He doesn't let things get under his skin, and anything that does seem to bother him is given no more than a cursory glance before he relaxes again and sets himself to finding a solution to his problems. Not that he ignores his problems, he simply does not let them own his life. There's so much to be optimistic about, he sees no reason to worry and let the little things drag him down. (It can probably be really annoying, actually, but he doesn't let THAT bother him either.) He'll deal with his problems on his on, though, thanks, you don't have to worry about him! That'd be ridiculous. Don't put yourself out on his account.
Milosha is always out to please others. He doesn't necessarily make it a point to please people, and he won't debase himself to make someone else happy, but if there's anything he can do to make someone's day a bit better, he will. He just genuinely likes to see others smile. Yeah, it can make him a little likely to be taken advantage of. But that's on you. Milo would be terribly hurt if he found out someone was using him like that. And deeply betrayed. He's a pretty trusting guy, not naive, but willing to believe the best in people; to know someone had broken that trust would be a pretty deep wound against him. Please don't lie to him. He's got no reason to dislike anyone, no matter what. Hurt him? explain yourself, he'll try to understand. Wrong him by accident without his knowing? Come clean, he'd be happy to forgive and forget. He accepts things as they are; if you have to lie to him for some reason, he's going to assume you do it to hurt him.
Milo is also a people person. He's nearly incapable of being alone, and goes stir crazy really quickly. He wants to be around people, and has a tendency to be found wherever large crowds are; either because he has a habit of dragging people into whatever idiot scheme he's planned for today, or because he simply tends to gravitate towards other people. He is a social butterfly, lots of friends and always open to making more. You're sitting alone at a table somewhere? This is the guy who will immediately sit next to you and strike up a conversation. He's incredibly flirty, with anyone and everyone, even if he knows full well he hasn't got a chance with you. It's just him; he likes to make people feel wanted. He tends to be a little bit physical, touching people when he talks, a hand on the arm, a pat on the back, arm around the shoulder, anything. It's not that he's clingy, he just likes the physical contact.
Please don't assume he's a big fluffy dumb idiot, though. He's pretty smart, even if he never makes that overtly clear. So he does;t talk about heavy, important issues, doesn't mean he can't. But unless you seem to need or want to have one of those conversations with him, he's not going to touch a subject that might hurt or offend someone. Still; he spends all his time trying to please people and making sure they're happy. You think he's not extremely good at picking up on other people's emotions? He is. And even if he hides it under a veneer of good humor and innuendo, Milo has a brain. Remember that.
He doesn't hold a grudge, and is quick to forgive nearly anything. There's only a few things he really gets angry about, and most of those are his big secrets. He'll punch you if you hurt his little brother, he'll take up a defense for his friends if they ask him (even if he knows they're wrong; loyalty means a lot to him). When he IS angry, he can be quite terrifying, but it's more a screaming, emotional anger; he burns really hot for a bit then settles down and just deals with it. Still, with a temper like his, it's best not to try and provoke him. He can be pretty explosive if you really do manage to push him over the edge. He's an emotional creature, so it makes sense that when he's up, he's up, and when he's down, he's really, really low. It's usually not hard to fix his moods, but there are times when it's plain he's just down in the dumps. Yeah. he wears his heart on his sleeve, and there's really no secrets to his emotional state.
* Genuinely a nice guy who strives to make people happy any way he can.
* Loyal - Really does care for people, and would stick up for them, or stick by them if they needed.
* White Knight sort of Personality, even if it's not wise of him to do something. (He can't stand a bully.)
* Empathetic - Extremely good at picking up on other people's emotions.
* Sympathetic- Always a good person to go to if you need to talk about anything. He'll try to help.
FAMILY: Father, Biological; M'dred of Blue Lafayeth
Father, Foster; Molray, Beastcrafter
Mother; Millaysha, Beastcrafter
Brother (Elder); Mo'ray of Green Muraenath
Brother (Younger): Moriyue
HISTORY:
Milosha was born to a happy family. It was a perfectly normal family, too, or it might have been if he hadn't been born and raised in a Weyr-adjacent Hold. Milosh has two brothers, one elder, one younger, and both of them half brothers by way of his father. See... Milosh's father is a perfectly respectable Beastcrafter, a nice humble man with a nice lovely wife, married for years. Molloray was their firstborn, and Milo's older brother. Not much to say about him here, other than the couple was very proud of the boy.
And then there's Milosha's birth. See... Millaysha has a sister at the Weyr. A dragonriding sister, and her twin. So they were close. And usually, Myalla came to visit the Hold, rather than the other way around, but... well. Occasionally, things went the other way. One day, Milosh's mother happened to be at the Weyr, and a flight happened, and...she was caught in the middle. Flights at their worst- well. Millaya didn't think much of it, especially when the bluerider apologized so profusely it was almost sweet. He'd not meant anything by it, been caught up in his dragon's emotions, all that. Oddly, he hadn't even meant to end up with HER; but the winner of the dragons' flight messed up somewhere and - well. It's a complicated tale, and not really relevant here.
Either way, Millaysha want back home, and explained in private to her husband what had happened... they were very open wit each other. He didn't like the idea, but his reservations about riders made him certain it was the fault of the Weyr, and not his wife. He stuck by this, and said it many times over the next few months, as the other Holders looked on with trepidation as his wife bore the child of another man. (Holder sensibilities. What can you do.)
Still. They made it clear they'd be good to the boy, whatever his parentage. And thus, Milosh. He would be raised the same as their full child, they agreed, and that was that.
So Milosha was actually relatively uncertain of his parentage for a good long while. It wasn't until his eldest brother somehow found out that he even learned about it, and then only because Molloray had a bit of a mean streak and decided to tell his little brother he wasn't even really a part of the family, just a weyrbrat. Milosha punched him, Molloray punched back, and they were both grounded for a month for breaking their father's end table. And later, when their baby brother Moriyue was born, Milosha was in love. Kid adored his baby brother, and would do anything for him. He and Molloray spent much of their time babysitting and helping their mom after that, to look after the baby. Mom had to work a lot with the beasts, of course, since dad was getting older and weaker, and needed all the help he could get. Eventually Milosha and Molloray began to help him out too, picking up the ancient art of ... beastcrafting. AKA, as the boys called it, boring-as-shells beast-sitting. Herdbeasts were boring. (Even if Milo was fond of the dopey, sweet dairy creatures his dad raised. They were still tremendously boring.) So of course, as kids, Milo and Molly often got into heaps of trouble, which Molloray often blamed completely on Milosha, giving Milo a reputation for making trouble. (Which was... not entirely inaccurate.)
Eventually, weirdly, Molloray got searched, and got flown off to Tidewalk Weyr, where he, the snippy little overachiever, Impressed his dear green. Which left Milo alone at home with his baby brother and parents and a lot of cows. Not that Milo minded. It meant he got to play with Moriyue much more often, and look after him and help teach the younger boy about Beastcrafting, which was fine by him. His little brother and he got along great, and they were best of friends. Milosha even risked his hide to steal a few flitter eggs from a wild clutch he found on the beach one day for him and his brother. Three of the five he managed to sneak away with never hatched, but the two that did popped out a little green who Moriyue adopted immediately, and a little brown that marched in and took a chunk out of Milo's finger. Well. At least they had some help now with the herdbeasts. (Dad ended up retiring with a bad back; most of the herd was left to his mother's care, and the two boys.) Mori's green and Milo's brown were their secret messengers back and forth.
Things were in fact great. Milosha apprenticed as an official Beastcrafter at fifteen, and was actually rather pretty jazzed about it up until... somehow, some way, in some strange turn of events, a dragon from Mavros of all places searched him when he was eighteen. He has no idea how or why, but. But. He went. He regrets that a little, leaving his mom and his family, but. See, the little secret neither he or his mother ever told anyone was that the searchdragon who grabbed him up was his father, and. Well. There was a long, complicated talk with his mom, and she told him he should go with his father. (The bluerider had transferred from Tidewalk to Mavros turns before, and. Well. He admitted he'd been searching to see if he might find his son somewhere.) Also, Milosha admitted he was probably going to throw himself off a cliff if looking after a herd of cattle was all he ever had to look forward to in life.
So Milo went off to Mavros for a few turns. So far it's been uninteresting, and he's utterly failed to Impress so far, but it hasn't been that long. And there's a ways to go, he thinks, before he officially ages out, right? He still sends Hood back home with messages and gifts, and to check on his parents. He figures if he ages out he'll just go home. He doesn't mind Herdbeasts that much after all.

PREFERRED RIDER ABBREVIATION: Mi'sha/ M'los (He's uncertain what he'll change it to.)
COLOR PREFERENCE: I prefer less a color specific, and more a dragon that would be a big thing to work on to mesh well with. (Ie, a dragon who has very different opinions and attitudes than he does, because I like development like that.) I prefer his life to not be easy, so a little work to adjust to his new partner would be fun for me. (He gets no say in that.) So...no color preference!
MUTATION?: Mutate me like the X-Men.
