Srunae.
Mmmmm...
Srunae, wake up. Your... pet has a present for you.
Srunae flinched as a small weight landed on her blanketed foot, an eye opening in confusion. What... She sat up and rubbed her eyes, gaze foggy. "Zeek...?" Her blue sat on her foot calmly, cooing quietly before presenting his gift- a small, oval-shaped thing- to his bonded. Srunae blinked and accepted the little, slightly cool thing, running her fingers over it. Fair, her green firelizard, shifted about in her shirt and peeked out her little pale green head, chirping at the object and crooning. Finally it dawned on Srunae. "An... egg?" She narrowed her eyes at it and then looked over at Zeek, who hummed softly, heralding a slideshow of images across her mind and movement within the egg she held. Fair soon joined the hum, and Zoom, Srunae's brown firelizard, took up an alarm as Srunae leapt out of bed and unsettled him, throwing on some clothes heavier than her pajamas.
A moment later she was under her bed, fending off her green gemglider, Floret's, chattering and upset claws to fish out a makeshift nest of shirts and torn up parchment, housing two more eggs besides the one she held. "Floret stop, they can't stay here much longer, they need warmth now!" Gemgliders, though better suited to the cold of winter than firelizards, still had to keep their eggs fairly warm before they hatched, and their young warm for a little while after hatching. The pale green gemglider still flailed about, raising an utterly painful din while Srunae scooped up the eggs and wrapped them into a fluffy towel. Floret did not want her Srunae to move her eggs, the young, overworried mother she was; Zeek was a little more helpful, being the calmer of the two.
Dashing out of her weyr with Zeek and Floret at her heels, Fair tucked into her clothing, and Zoom flying around her head, Floret's while Srunae ran down the access stairs in Melana's part of the weyr to the Lower Caverns and into the main hall, the warmest part of the weyr.
Goodness they make such a racket... Danovelith supplied, before she commanded the two screaming creatures to hush. Zoom, pouting and offended that the big shiny cousin had told him to be quiet, sulked back up to Srunae's room and hid under the pillow. Floret scolded the big shiny in her head and then immediately took up watch over the makeshift nest Srunae set up on a table nearer the hearth.
Anyone who wants a gemglider should stop off by the hearth in the Dining Hall before you get your breakfast. There are only a few, so hurry... Since Srunae doesn't need more pets right now... The last part was privately said to herself and her Srunae, who scoffed and uncovered the now wriggling little Gemglider eggs. Floret swatted at Srunae now, settling over the eggs in a protective manner, while Zeek sat calmly off to the side, watching thoughtfully. He had to be the father, judging by his lack of desire to go anywhere. Fair stuck her head out of Srunae's pocket to peek at the eggs, quietly watching before hiding in her spot again as someone passed by.
Though there were only three eggs, Srunae was sure anyone who had seen the gemgliders around thusfar would be interested in any egg they could obtain.
((So, there are three gemglider eggs, I will run a randomizer to give them out to people. Merry Christmas!))
