NAME: Godoth
AGE: 21 months
COLOR: Brown
RIDER: B'nar
WING RANK: Wingrider
SPEAKING COLOR: 8A360F
APPEARANCE: Dark brown with a deep barrel chest and a short neck. His legs are stocky, and his back flanks are particularly well muscled – he will never have trouble launching himself into the air once he is grown, or need to favor ledges and cliff heights for take-offs. Godoth is on the larger side for brown at 63 feet.
His wide head knobs flare out a bit at their ends, giving him a slightly bat-eared appearance. His eyes are set deep beneath steeply arched eye ridges.
ABILITIES
AGILITY: 2
SPEED: 4
ENDURANCE: 6
PERSONALITY: Godoth is a dragon of action, not a planner or a worrier: and he's a very single-minded one at that. This brown doesn't dawdle or hesitate when there's things to be done: his focus, when he gives it, is total, and he's loathe to give up on any task his rider has given him until he's seen it through to the end.
Precision does not come naturally to Godoth: he functions on "good enough to get the job done", and simply does not see the point of agonizing over details. He can appreciate the fruits of pre-planning, and caution, and care, and can in fact be quite appreciative of their results: but as far as he's concerned all that's just something that others do. His way of doing things - whether it results in direct, down to earth actions which can cut to the core of everyday problems in a moment, or earnest blundering which only makes more complex problems worse - is the only way he can imagine doing them.
Godoth will defer to his rider and direct his focus according to their wishes - most of the time. Convincing the brown to switch his focus to a task which he realizes requires forethought or precision to get right, however, will be rather like convincing a large and reluctant river to try and split itself into pieces and dance prettily down a mountainside. One can try, but a mess is likely to result - no matter how motivated the river is to try. Overall, Godoth would really prefer it if his rider handled the complicated stuff, and let him provide what he knows best: an inexhaustible determination to set against all problems they come up against, a keen attachment to those he perceives as weaker and in need of protection, and an unashamed tendency, when faced with a challenge, to do exactly what seems right to him right away, no matter what others may others think.
While Godoth's bulldoggish build gives him considerable stamina in the air, the finer motions of everyday life are foreign to him. Flying six full candlemarks keeping the nastiest clumps of Thread from decimating the greens without a breather? Fine. Remembering to take care not to knock over the oil bucket with his tail as he gets up with dinner in mind? Not so much.
