Piyerro

NAME: Piyerro
RANK: Formerly a Holder's heir, but he is disowned and will be just plain Weyrfolk from now on.
AGE IN TURNS: 28
FAMILY:
Father Persiel (50)
Mother Tegan (48)
Sister Tamerra (17)
Various extended family members
APPEARANCE: As if he couldn't get any more idealized, he's not only a competent (former) Holder's heir but handsome as well. His hair is dark brown and usually immaculate, with intelligent brown eyes set in a distinguished face. He's just slightly above average height at five foot ten inches, but he often looks taller due to his straight posture and solid build. He dresses well, though it's more for keeping up appearances than personal preference and since his loss in status he dresses more simply. He does make a point to keep everything clean, though.
EDUCATION/SKILLS: As a Holder's son and former heir, he got much more than the standard Harper education--enough to run a hold, basically. His reading and writing are impeccable, with fair skill at figuring.
ORIENTATION: Heterosexual

BASIC PERSONALITY: Piyerro is smothering and excessively reserved, but ultimately well-intentioned: He can almost instantly take on the role of brother/father when needed, and views them as a more personal extension of his Holder duties. However, he's a bit too dependent on his role as caretaker and so has no clue what to do with himself otherwise.
*FAULTS: In a strange reversal of the usual personality, he's not used to thinking about consequences when it doesn't concern other people's welfare. This makes him quite impulsive when he knows something won't affect more than himself--if nobody else's well-being is at stake, then why shouldn't he have free rein over his actions? He's quite distant when it comes to most people and has gotten more than a few feelings hurt from time to time. Most glaring, however, is his lack of experience outside of his family's Hold. He's completely out of his depth when it comes to being normal, which doesn't bode well since he's gotten disowned.
*STRENGTHS: (at least 5 sentences) If it involves helping people, he is easily motivated to do whatever he can. He does attempt to connect with others, but his upbringing undoes most of them. Some may find him endearingly earnest, so he's often forgiven quite easily for social blunders. He keeps his head in a crisis, and he's good at both short and long-term planning--in fact, that was how he managed to get to Mavros without too much trouble. He's also not afraid of taking the brunt of hard times if it means others' burdens will be lightened.
FEARS: Threadfall, being useless, and something happening to people he's responsible for.
DREAMS: They're all shot now that he's been disowned. Right now he's just trying to find his sister and make sure she's all right.

*HISTORY: As his parents' only child until he was eleven, and then the only viable heir when Tamerra was born, he grew up pampered in some way or another for much of his life. Since Tamerra was both unplanned and a girl, his parents didn't bother with her much besides the essentials of their station and making sure she didn't embarrass them. This left a bad taste in Piyerro's mouth, so he took it upon himself to make sure she didn't run wild. Eventually he became the only person she'd listen to consistently, and he became as well-known for his devotion to his sister as he was for being the heir to the family Hold.
When Thread fell twenty Turns early and devastated the Southern territories, he used part of his inheritance to give aid to his holders rather than let his parents sort things out alone. This made him quite beloved back at home, as it proved that he was more than competent enough to take over. But late in the previous Turn, Tamerra disappeared and left only a cryptic and unhelpful note reading, "Look for the smallest and most exciting one."
He realized that she'd most likely gone to Mavros and started arranging to get there by ship, or possibly dragonback. Typically, his parents didn't share the same enthusiasm for finding her--if she wanted to run around with a group of exiles, why not let her? She'd probably come back on the next trader's ship in a month or two when the novelty of being in a new Weyr wore off. If not, they told him, then she was old enough to make decisions for herself and he shouldn't be taking her departure so seriously.
Even expecting that they'd only be vaguely concerned, he was appalled that they didn't even want to go see her. Things came to a head early in the third month: A heated argument took place and Piyerro was stripped of the remainder of his inheritance, with Persiel disowning him and giving the Hold's management to a suitable cousin. Piyerro managed to get about thirty marks before everything was officially recorded; ten marks went to bribe a Mirran bluerider to take him to Mavros, and the rest went into a securely-tied belt pouch just in case. Or he could use it for more bribes--he doesn't mind either way.
