Appearance:
Percotath is a lithe blue clearly built for speed and agility, though his long wings will hamper him just a little in that respect, and give him just a little more endurance in the long run. He is very well proportioned, a fine physical specimen, as anyone who knows dragons would tell you. From his head to his tail his hide is a pale cloudy blue, fading into a slightly darker blue on his legs and wings. Dark indigo markings stand out against the paler colors of his hide. There are rings of indigo around his tail, stripes down his neck, patches covering his eyes and headknobs, and stripes and spots both over his wings. He is a pleasant color with handsome markings, and he knows it. He will be smaller for a blue, reaching 48 feet at full growth.Personality: Vain, Fanciful, Friendly, Polite
Percotath is a dragon that sets rather high standards when it comes to his appearance, and his rider’s as well. He is an incredibly handsome blue - he’d like to see you try to deny it! - and he is determined that he should look his best at all times. His rider, also, should reflect this high standard. How can he look his best if his rider appears all disheveled beside him? Who is going to admire him properly when they are too focused on how poorly his rider looks? He will be incredibly insistent about frequent bathing and oiling for himself, and will be very pushy and critical about his rider’s appearance as well. They MUST appear as the perfect pair, at all times, and he will suffer nothing less. Despite the lengths he goes to in order to look his best, he does not require the obvious admiration of others in order to validate his efforts. As long as he is pleased, that is enough, though flattery will get you everywhere with this blue. Still the fact remains, his approval of himself is all he really needs. The admiration of others is just a bonus.
A rather ridiculously fanciful dragon, Percotath has an incredible flair for the dramatic and a surprisingly creative side. He will enjoy telling stories to his fellow dragons, making things up as he goes, and will enjoy listening to stories as well. If they are set to music, all the better. Oh, how he wishes he could make his own music! It is terribly unfair there are no instruments a dragon can play properly. There should be, in his opinion. He has a strange appreciation for human creativity, whether it be music, art, or fashion, and is likely to push his rider to fill their weyr with beautiful things. When he doesn’t get his way, his dramatic tendencies will flare up in a more negative way. He will moan and mope, with great over dramatic ‘woe is me’ speeches, and depending on the offense he may become rather despondent for a time, until he either gets his way or gets bored of laying about, but he can be incredibly stubborn while in these moods and will be difficult to move for some time. His dramatic tendencies will come out in his every day speech as well and he will take to using storied lines and develop a rather poetic speech pattern. This isn’t to say he will speak in rhyme, simply that his words will flow in quite a pleasing manner, and will likely come off as though he’s telling a story even in simple conversation.
And Percotath is a dragon that enjoys conversation. Quite a friendly dragon, he will happily speak to anyone and everyone. He enjoys company, whether human or dragon, and enjoys entertaining others and being the center of attention, though he isn’t an attention hog. While he does enjoy showing off from time to time, he is not conceited and does not think anyone owes him their attention. In fact he is quite a gentleman and tends to be very well mannered. His storied speech often comes across as how some highborn Lord might speak. He tries to be polite when interacting with others and doesn’t particularly appreciate crude and uncivilized behavior, preferring to interact with those that know how to behave properly. This isn’t to say he’s a stickler for rules and propriety, for he can and will break rules and certainly knows how to have fun, there are just certain activities and behaviors that he finds unacceptable for a dragon as handsome as he. Inner beauty is just as important as outer beauty, after all, and Percotath is determined to be beautiful in both respects. He can, however, be a bit more blunt with his rider, most often if he is displeased with their appearance or how they are acting.
Though not a flirtatious sort under normal, every day circumstances, this blue is still likely to chase just about every green that rises. After all, is it not his duty to share himself with lovely ladies when the opportunity arises? However he will turn his nose up at any greens that he finds too unrefined and crass. If they have a bad attitude he doesn’t particularly want anything to do with them, and they don’t deserve the chance to be carried by his glorious wings. Losing flights will set him in a bad mood, however, and that dramatic streak of his just might come out, depending on how invested in the female he might be. He is a most handsome mate and being rejected shows poor judgment on the part of the green in question, surely? But in the end it is HER loss, not his. Definitely not his. Or so he will tell himself, and anyone else that foolishly brings it up.
