NAME: Codrath (Koe-draeth)
AGE: Eleven months
COLOR: Bronze
RIDER: L'rey
RANK: Weyrling
SPEAKING COLOR: 525134
APPEARANCE:
Codrath is a large dragon, reaching 75 feet at full growth, but his build is less bulky than most bronzes, though certainly no one would call him sleek or lithe. The dull grayish bronze that colors his main body is accented by the antique gold color that covers the majority of the underside of his wings, the base of his tail, and along his sides, beginning at his neck and ending at his hind legs, along with the paler, dull golden tones that cover his underside, wing edges, and the majority of his tail. A darker, greenish bronze covers the top sides of his wings, the top of his head, his paws, and along his spine until the end of his back ridges on his tail. From his head and down his neck, and then along this tail, there are several stripes of this darker color, fading into lighter colors as they reach for his underside.
ABILITIES
AGILITY: 3
SPEED: 4
ENDURANCE: 8
PERSONALITY: Fearless, Passionate, Possessive, Greedy
If the Pernese remembered the old Earth stories of fierce, greedy western dragons, they would say that Codrath perhaps comes closest to bringing those legends to life. This is a bronze that knows he’s a bronze and expects to be respected befitting of his rank. He thinks nothing of barking orders at his lower colored peers and has no issue using his influence as a bronze to force a matter if his commands are not obeyed, something which his rider will need to keep an eye on so he does not end up abusing his power. His relationship with his rider is sure to be a rocky one, for he is a highly stubborn, proud beast that does not take kindly to being controlled, and should his rider not agree with his actions, a battle of wills is sure to ensue.
Codrath does not wait, does not ask permission, he simply acts and does as he pleases with no regard for any sort of consequence to his actions. His fearlessness borders on stupidity and one could wonder if something in his mind isn’t broken for what seems to be his complete lack of any sort of fear instinct. The only exception to this rule would be any sort of threat to his rider, which will quickly earn a roaring, snarling response. Codrath does nothing by half measures, passionately throwing his whole self into any given moment, his emotions a wild back and forth of violent extremes that rarely settle for long. If Codrath likes you, he loves you, he will protect you with everything he is. If he does not like you, he despises you, he would as soon chew you up and spit you out, but apparently that’s frowned upon in Pernese society, and you’re sharding lucky some maddening instinct keeps him from doing just that!
Now if a bad temper was all that was needed to remind us of the dragons of Earth legends, plenty of other dragons could have fit the role already. Codrath claims the role over all others due to his sheer greed and possessiveness. He has a jealous streak a mile wide when it comes to his rider. He is HIS and it does not take much for him to grow irate should his rider be spending more time with others when he should be with HIM. It is likewise for any other friends he makes, human or dragon, though he is unlikely to speak to other humans besides his rider. Codrath also has a hoarding habit. When he first starts killing his own meals, he will try to save a bone to collect from each meal, and his rider will have quite a time getting rid of them. Like a magpie he is drawn to shiny things, insisting upon adding them to his collection, whether it simply a polished rock, a piece of broken glass, or a precious jewel. And he will not abide anyone but his rider to touch his collection, and even then he will be watching with a wary eye.
This is a dragon that will chase every female he can. All are his, in his mind, and he will hover over any female he catches like a queen over her clutch, posturing and chasing off any other males that dare get near. Codrath is not afraid to resort to dirty tricks or even violence in the pursuit of a female, and his rider will need to keep a careful hold on him to avoid any serious injuries.
