News The twin golds Sularenth and Danovelith, along with a small group of riders, staff, and candidates, all too part in a secret mission to travel back in time and bring forth two clutches worth of dragons soon to join the ranks of Mavros's Wings. In the chaos of their disappearance, the Weyrwoman Karredy caused quite a scene, bringing her mental stability into question. After a meeting of the goldriders, it was decided that Karredy should step down from her position due to her health and Mavros awaits the next gold to rise and take her place as Senior.
In order to adopt these dragons, simply copy and paste their information into a new thread, fill in their rider's name, and create a rider for them. You may also feel free to expand upon their appearance and/or personality, but you must leave what is there already.
After you've copy/pasted the dragon you want to claim, I will put them on hold for up to 1 week while you create their rider. If you have not created a rider for them within that time they will go back up for adoption. Adopting a dragon earns you 10 Marks. *You may only adopt one bronze in this manner.
OPEN: Bronze Gaburuth
Brown Olath Brown Jarvath
Blue Buth Blue Chieth Blue Mucalonith
Green Korath Green Salatoth Green Palogeth Green Laspherith
NAME: Gaburuth AGE: 4 Months COLOR: Bronze RIDER: -- *Must be ambitious/have a stronger personality RANK: Weyrling SPEAKING COLOR: 9f9237
APPEARANCE: Gaburuth does not have the impressive size of his two bronze clutchbrothers. He is slim, but not excessively so, his wings long, but not wide. To be honest he's rather diminutive for a bronze, and will only reach 64 feet at full growth. His hide is an antique sort of greenish bronze and he could easily be mistaken for a gold at a glance. He is completely unmarked.
This bronze is extremely loyal and may come to blindly follow personal loyalties against greater loyalties, such as following his rider though he might go against the Weyrhold. Introverted and reasonable, this bronze can be a tough nut to crack, but those who befriend him will find an amazing creature beneath the prickly shell who only wants to help those he cares about. If his precious, precious friends are in peril, you can bet this bronze will be the first to leap to their aid, no matter what might happen to him. But, he is naturally quite obedient, and will, if sometimes grudgingly, hold back if given an order from his superiors or his bonded – however, his bonded’s will is his law, and he will go against even a gold’s order if his bonded wishes otherwise (unless she puts her will behind it, anyway).
Emotional, this bronze will be utterly devoted to his bonded, aiding him on his journey of self-discovery, pushing him to become better and better in thought and action. He exemplifies friendship in the sheer lengths to which he will go to help his bonded not go down the spiral of self-destruction. Eventually, the pair will become comfortable in silence, left without a need to communicate in words or even images, as simple feelings and looks will become enough to portray their intentions. In this vein, it will be an extremely rare occurrence if he speaks to another person besides His – someone would have to be dead or dying to cause this bronze to speak with another human. In general an upstanding dragon, he will grow into an amazing leader of the Weyr if only given the chance to find himself as much as His will.
Slimmer and more agile than his bronze clutchmates, this bronze is quick enough to catch even smaller greens, but a bit less adept in keeping up his stamina for a goldflight. However, he will easily last a full fall, and will fly circles around larger bronzes without delay, perhaps even reaching the agility of a brown.
APPEARANCE: Olath is very, very average for a Brown. At full growth he will be an even 60 feet, his build muscular and on the bulkier side, but certainly not anything special for your typical Brown. He has good proportions, nothing seeming out of place or offering any sort of awkwardness to his appearance. His hide is perhaps the most memorable thing about him, a youthful golden brown that appears almost as a muted orange, giving the brief illusion of a Bronze hide before one notices there is no sheen to mark him as metallic.
Olath is a quick-tempered beast; he flies into a rage at the slightest of perceived insults. Luckily his bark is worse than his bite and he is a whole lot of bluster and hot air and not much else, though is likely to challenge anyone who slights him to some sort of competition as soon as his ranting and raving is over, eager to prove who is the better of the two. This competitive nature is not reserved for his fellow dragon, for he will come up with all sorts of competitions a human could participate in with him. Even the slightest hint of a doubt in his abilities will lead to a challenge of some sort. He thrives on competition and rivalry, always seeking to better himself to defeat any challenger. Losing will throw him into another of his rages, though as soon as he’s done he will throw himself into practice and training and re-challenge the victor as soon as possible.
Olath is not a thoughtful dragon, he has no patience and very little self control but for what his bred and engineered instincts give him. He acts on each little impulse that occurs to him and throws himself wholly into whatever he is currently doing to the neglect of everything else. He is not a dragon capable of multitasking, with a very focused, one track mind. As competitive as he is, he will chase every Green and even every Gold, dying to show up his Bronze fellows by catching a Gold one day, proving himself to be just as good, perhaps better than they, for not every Bronze ever gets the chance to sire a clutch.
APPEARANCE: Jarvath is slighter than the average Brown, not quite so bulky, but not by too terribly much. Stand him next to a number of other Browns and you’re sure to notice, but otherwise he may just seem a little on the small side for his color, and he does fall on the smaller side of the spectrum at 57 feet at full growth. His hide is mainly a medium, woody brown color, but along his spine is a broad swath of pale orange-brown, starting on his muzzle and flowing down his back, up his wing arms, stopping off on his shoulders and haunches and right before his tailfork.
Jarvath is very proper and particular; he pays close attention to proper protocols and formalities, they mean a great deal to him. There are proper ways to do things, and he takes great care to perform his duties and every day interactions in the correct manner. Polite and respectful to those of higher rank, but very aware of his own status as a Brown, Jarvath can easily become offended when a Blue or Green doesn’t show him the proper amount of respect he believes he deserves. He frets and bemoans every little thing that does not fall into its proper place, that does not act in its designated way, and has a very difficult time adapting when major changes are introduced. He takes everything very seriously and is likely to be described by some as a stick in the mud for his lack of any real sense of humor. This is a dragon that is all work and no play, and is liable to overwork himself if his rider doesn’t stop him.
Although Jarvath does not often deign to speak to other humans, for it just seems improper to him, he isn’t entirely opposed to the practice if something of importance needs to be conveyed. Considerate of others, he has no qualms with volunteering for duties that others find distasteful, undesirable, or boring, knowing very well that the job will need to be done no matter who does it and willing to take those jobs on to spare someone else an unpleasant time. Jarvath is not likely to be a big chaser unless he has formed a close bond with the female that happens to be rising.
APPEARANCE: Buth is of middling size for a Blue; he’ll be 51 feet at full growth. He leans ever so slightly toward the bulkier side, not at all overly so or entirely comparable to the typical Brown or Bronze build, but more muscular than a lot of Blues tend to be. All in all he is a very average looking Blue; his hide is completely unmarked and of a medium blue coloration, edging into a hint of indigo.
In everything he does, Buth means well. He tries his hardest to do the right things, unfortunately he often lets his own desires get in the way. He is easily swayed by his own impulsive whims. Oh, it would sure be best to spend some time practicing that particularly hard maneuver for drills but… his favorite sunning spot is free and the sun is just so warm today. Two big truths exist when it comes to Buth, one: that he will always put off work for play, and two: that he will always feel guilty about it afterward. He lives to pursue his own pleasures, and those of his rider; to sleep in the best sunning spots, and gorge on the best herdbeasts, and chase the prettiest greens, but something within him constantly reminds him that there are more important duties to attend to, that shirking duty is bad, and just how disappointed with him everyone will be if he continues to do so… but that reminder only comes AFTER he’s already procrastinated as long as possible. He does not think things through in the least, acting on impulse and whim at all times, and if his rider is easily swayed by the option that offers the most fun, this pair will get very little done in their lifetime and is likely to find themselves in trouble more often than not.
One good thing that can be said about Buth is that he is entirely honest. Question him about where he’s been and he’ll tell you, ask him why he missed drills and he will guiltily let you know the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Buth cannot keep a secret nor tell a lie. Although he will never outright gossip about one’s secrets, if asked about the particular subject he will tell them readily enough, and immediately apologize to those who he just gave away the secrets of. Buth enjoys chasing and will likely chase every Green that rises, regardless of his rider’s feelings on the matter.
APPEARANCE: Chieth is quite small for a Blue, and could be mistaken for a Green at first glance. He is skinny, constantly looking underfed no matter how much he eats, lanky and somewhat awkward looking. He won’t be able to last much longer than most Greens during Threadfall. His main hide color is a dull, icy blue, but the broad teal stripe down his back, starting at his nose, ending just before his tailfork, and edging up his wingarms, gives him a slight illusion of being Green when you don’t get a good look at him. At full growth he will be 43 feet long.
Chieth could very well be described as the conscience of his clutch. Or perhaps the whole Weyr. He is always trying to do what’s right, and is incredibly involved in the lives of others to ensure that they are also following the right path. He feels the need to be know everyone’s business and can sometimes be rather pushy about trying to make others talk to and confide in him. He does this out of a deep sense of compassion and desire to help others, but that doesn’t mean everyone appreciates his efforts all the time. He highly enjoys listening to others, hearing out their problems, and offering suggestions as to how they might fix those problems. He has a habit of offering advice where it hasn’t been asked for and may not be needed, but few can deny that at least his suggestions make sense and are often quite helpful. He has a lot of empathy, often catching onto the moods of others, dragon or human alike, though he doesn’t seem to have any real ability as a Searchdragon. He is drawn to those wallowing in negative emotions, for he feels driven to help them, even if all they need is someone to listen quietly while they rant or cry. He is very encouraging, always there to be everyone’s cheerleader and make sure they know that HE, at least, believes in them.
He takes life, and in particular his self assigned duty to help others, very seriously; he is completely unable to understand innuendos and sarcasm, taking everything very literally, and most jokes will fly completely over his head. His own sense of humor is… questionable at best, and to most, quite boring and not very humorous at all. He is unlikely to chase at all unless urged to by his rider, or if he knows the Green in question actually has a fondness for him, or he for her.
APPEARANCE: Besides being the largest Green in her clutch, Korath is… incredibly unremarkable in her looks. She is built a bit heavier than most Greens and has more visible muscle, and this combined with her larger size give her a decent amount of endurance for a Green, costing her agility and speed in the process. Besides this she is decently proportioned, with no part of her looking awkward or out of place, but neither looking exceptional. Her hide is a markless medium green with no variation.
ABILITIES AGILITY: 6 SPEED: 6 ENDURANCE: 4
PERSONALITY: Confident, Ambitious, Self Righteous, Hard Working
Korath is a dragon that knows what she wants and is willing to do whatever it takes to get it. This isn’t to say she’s cruel in general, but she is ruthless in her pursuits and isn’t above making others look bad in order to further her own agenda, and Korath is a highly ambitious dragon, especially for a Green. She desires rank and recognition, for herself and her rider, and if her rider doesn’t have the ambition and the drive to get it for them then she has no issue with doing it all herself. She is no fool of a dragon, she doesn’t think she deserves rank or recognition simply because she is who she is, or through some inflated sense of self importance. What she wants in life she is very willing to work, and work hard to achieve. She will always be early for drills, respectful and obedient of her superiors, taking every duty very seriously and going the extra mile to prove her ability and her worth to those who have the power to grant her the rank she desires. Confident and polite, she isn’t afraid to interject her opinions and to make herself known, so that others remember her and recall those particular ideas of hers that proved valuable and worthwhile. She isn't entirely fond of talking to humans besides her rider, but she isn't against it either, preferring to express her own opinions rather than rely on her rider to do so for her.
She has the remarkable ability to justify anything she does, no matter how underhanded it may seem, and make it seem as though it were a reasonable course of action. Much of this includes making others look bad in order to make herself look better, but all she does she does truly because she wants to help her Weyr and Pern as a whole, and she believes she will be able to accomplish more in a higher rank, and clearly her good intentions mean she deserves the chance to prove herself as a ranking dragon. The ends justify the means for Korath, even if she has to hurt feelings and make enemies in the process. As if to prove he dedication to raising her station, she will not rise as often as some Greens, giving her more time for planning and less time for silly trivialities.
NAME: Salatoth AGE: 4 Months COLOR: Green RIDER: -- *must be female RANK: Weyrling SPEAKING COLOR: E1FFB2
APPEARANCE: Salatoth is a finely formed dragon. She is lean but not slight, well muscled but not bulky. Her wings are long and slim. At 38 feet at full growth, she doesn't have the most impressive stature, but her graceful, cat-like stride is still bound to turn heads. Her hide is a pleasant, pale sage green and she is completely unmarked.
ABILITIES AGILITY: 6 SPEED: 8 ENDURANCE: 2
PERSONALITY: Sassy, Confident, Blunt, Serious
Now this is a dragon that is full of contradictions. On the outside she proves to be calm enough on the surface, usually appearing collected and dignified, a lovely cat upon the windowsill with her eyes focused on you. On the inside, however, she is attentively keeping tabs on everyone around her, and her bonded will be privy to any number of calculated sarcastic asides and snarky, entirely inappropriate comments. This dragon is sharp-tongued and often dry, but she can’t be called cruel; each and every one of her comments makes sense, and can even be constructive, the dragon is just very blunt. She sees no point in sugar-coating things, finding it far better to get straight to the point rather than beat around the bush, and makes equally no effort to hide when she's been offended. Beyond the depth of her skin lies the heart of a truly feisty green, one that almost seems as if she has already raised herself on the mean streets of Ruatha before she even broke shell.
Regularly quite serious, this green doesn’t seem to understand the concept of a joke, and even less so seems to understand the concept of fun. There are duties she and her bonded must attend to, and she will not allow them to go unfinished despite any protest. In a similar vein, this is a dragon that will stand up for whatever she believes to be right, such as leaving their chores to assist a thread-wounded dragon to the infirmary, and then going back to their chores to finish them appropriately. Once the work is done, she is content to simply relax and spend time alone, free from the annoyances that are other dragons and people who are not Her Own or the green’s few treasured friends. Her moral compass is predominately shades of greys, as what she finds right might not be what technically falls into the range of ‘good’.
A pretty well-rounded green, this female will prove to be one of the faster dragons in the Weyr. She will never be as agile as most other greens, but she still has enough speed to her that she can move well in the air. Her flights will be things of beauty as she falls right into the butter zone for both blue and brown suitors; not too short, but not too long with just the right amount of acrobatics to keep males of both colors interested.
NAME: Palogeth AGE: 4 Months COLOR: Green RIDER: -- *must be male RANK: Weyrling SPEAKING COLOR: 315830
APPEARANCE: Palogeth is one of the smallest dragons in her clutch and will be only 36 feet at full growth. She is slender, dainty, and quite feminine in appearance. Her wings are short, allowing her a great range of agility, but costing her in endurance. She is a dark forest green and completely unmarked.
This dragon is an easy-going, down-to-earth girl, easily balancing her partner's more excitable personality with a calm, feminine touch. However she can be a little ditzy, even gullible, and can be swept up in lost causes because of her cheerful, helpful personality. She can sometimes be a little theatric, over embellishing the good (and the bad) with an actresses’ zest for the stage, but it’s often more in fun than in anything serious. She has a lot of patience, and easily handles Hers when the worst comes forth, whether it be a full-fledged temper tantrum or a cold shoulder. She loves her rider dearly and will do anything for them (within reason), and faithfully stands beside them in even the darkest of times.
This flighty green is also quite the team player; she gets along with everyone pretty well, being nice and easy-going, and always willing to volunteer where she can. She is aware of her shortcomings as a light, slender green, but she isn’t the smallest around, so she can handle more than some dragons with her tendency for speed and agility. This green has a grand sense of fun, and gets along with her much bulkier blue sibling better than any of her other clutchmates. The banter between them is quite amusing to listen to – she constantly teases him about how he’ll never catch her in a flight unless she wants him to… and he naturally gives her a mischievous grin in return.
An extremely maneuverable dragon, this green will be everywhere and nowhere in the blink of an eye, easily pulling magnificent and daredevil stunts in the air and on the ground. Severely lacking in stamina, only fast blues will be the most likely to catch her in the wake of her twisting and twirling tail, but who knows – maybe someone will surprise her in a sudden burst of mischievous fun.
