APPEARANCE: Hazelira is tall, brown haired and blue-eyed, sharing several features with her mother- quite similar in many ways. Her eyes are Hiralia's eyes, but her brown hair comes from her father. Lean, with just the right amount of weight on her bones to make her attractive. She maintains her appearance with a fervor just a bit on the obsessive side, keeping herself spotless of dirt, her hair sleek and styled, her clothes neat and free of stains. The very picture of a lady brought up right.
PERSONALITY FAULTS: Sheltered, Easily Overwhelmed, Aimless, Overbearing, Close-minded
Hazelira has really only had one goal in life, which is to do what was expected of her. She's always tried hard to make up for what her older sisters failed to do for their mother, and she accepts Hiralia's ideals of what her daughters should be. She, at least, can make up for them, and she will. As a result, though, she's a bit unaware of what goes on outside of the Hold, and any other life but one her mother wants for her is a bit frightening to consider.
She tends to be a follower in any new situation, doing as told and rarely trying to do something unless prompted. Routine is ideal, but take her out of it and she's left drifting, struggling to adapt. In her home she knows what's expected of her and can put herself to tasks without needing to be told. Outside the home, even in a Hold she's familiar with, she can find herself overwhelmed and anxious. She's most comfortable in the privacy and company of her family.
She cares for all of her siblings, even if she doesn't particularly understand them. Hiralia only wants what's best for them, so why are they so stubborn about letting her do just that? She tends to butt heads with them all too often, and mostly considers it ideal that they spend so much time doing their own thing.

Hazel firmly believes in the 'give and you will receive' way of life. The only things that are strictly hers are her clothes; everything else belongs to everyone else. Sharing is a thing she encourages in her younger brothers, despising displays of selfishness over toys. She's not harsh about it, however, generally working to compromise to at least try to keep everyone happy.
A people-pleaser, Hazel greatly dislikes being in the position of seeing both sides in an argument and trying to settle it without making it seem like she's taking sides. If she can't manage it, she'll just leave and let the two sort it out or try to find someone who can handle the situation better. She's better about being able to listen to someone vent, and offering advice if they ask for it. If she finds herself on the receiving end of someone's anger or frustration- whatever the reason may be- she'll usually just let them wear themselves out; she's never quite figured out how to redirect them when she's the reason they're upset.
Very much family-oriented, Hazel is quite protective of them all. Even if she doesn't exactly get along with all of them, she wants to see them happy- it's just that her idea of happiness doesn't line up with theirs.

HISTORY: Born the fourth child and the third daughter to Chizewlin and Hiralia, Hazelira is right in the middle of the mess of siblings. She's never quite felt like she's fit in with any of them, either. The oldest twins were well on their way to being Smithcraft apprentices, and Chai liked to play too rough for her, and the boys that followed were viewed more as responsibilities than playmates. In the absence of close siblings, she turned to her parents instead. She's close to them both, has always been so, and having their approval has meant a lot.
As her father had other duties out of the home, it was Hiralia who gave the girl the needed attention during the day, and it was Hiralia she began to mimic as she grew. Where Lira and Zel were following in their father's footsteps and Chai was finding her way, Hazel grew up helping her mother manage household tasks. Continued approval of her efforts solidified her desire to keep helping her mother.
It's all she's known, really. She fit herself into the role her mother set for her, becoming the kind of daughter Hiralia wanted her to be, dutiful and respectable. She never had much of a plan for herself outside of marriage, perhaps, finding someone to settle down with once she was of age and becoming a woman of her own home, caring for her weyrmate and caring for the children they'd eventually have...
