APPEARANCE:
Played by Eleanor Tomlinson. Her hair is a pale copper red/orange color, that is appears more vibrant in the sunlight. It's also curly and unruly if unchecked. She leaves it long so she doesn’t have to bother cutting it. Besides, it feels good when the ocean wind streams through it. She’ll twist it up into a bun if she’s working, but likes to leave it down, since she thinks it’s the only pretty thing about her.Personality Type: ENFP-A, Campaigner
Her skin is fair and pale and burns easily in the sun. She’s doesn’t tan well (or at all). Her skin is scattered with freckles that darken in the sun. She has a slender build with flat curves – she was an awkward stick growing up.
Her eyes are a murky sea green and outlined with a darker and richer sea green.
She'll wear a dress if the occasion requests it, but otherwise its pants and shirts (usually baggy and unflattering). She's 5'7" and is confident with her height, she even likes that she's as tall as some men.
PERSONALITY FAULTS: Daydreamer, Distracted, Disconnected, Stubborn, Blunt/Sarcastic
PERSONALITY STRENGTHS: Romantic (ish), Tomboy, Adventurous, Positive
Most of the time you’ll probably find her either doing 'nothing' - day dreaming about life. Or she’ll busy at work and daydreaming as she works. As she works, she’s actually very focused despite the daydreaming, but the outside world sort of fades away and getting her to hear will be difficult. Even after being yelled at to focus or listen, it’s not that she’s forgotten the beratement, but her mind will quickly slip back into her thoughts because of something an instructor or friend has said and has distracted her again.
She does enjoy people, but she doesn’t trust anyone except for her mother and younger brother, maybe her second oldest brother as well. Men are pigs, she knows this, no matter the façade they put on. Even so, she dreams that the perfect man will sweep her off her feet, someone who clearly could never exist. And women are tunnelsnakes that can’t be trusted. She likes to think she’s less of a tunnelsnake and more of a pig, since she grew up with her brothers – and enjoys the company of men more than women because of this, as long as they keep their hands to themselves.
She is very tomboyish and while she does enjoy the feeling of being clean, doesn’t mind getting dirty in good fun or at work. She does like wearing dresses sometimes if the occasion permits, but she’s the kind of person who would forget she’s wearing a dress and get into a tussle or get mud on it doing some sort of fun. Not at all lady like and doesn’t care (most of the time) what others think about it. There is a piece of her that likes fine things, but she can’t be bothered by wanting things that wouldn’t ‘fit her’ so to speak.
Even as protected as she was (as much as her mother could) her morals are slightly wishy-washy. Not above lying, cheating, or stealing. She doesn’t go out actively looking to do these things- just when the moments present themselves, bad habits kick in. She likes to think she does them for good reasons- and never does it to those who are important or that she cares about, for the most part.
Adventure is her middle name, so to speak. She loves discovering new things and can be quite nosy and inquisitive by nature. On the edge of daredevil she can get herself and others into trouble. One of her dreams is to discover something that no one else has.
She says what she thinks and doesn’t get bothered much by what others think. She’s not generally rude and never gives unsolicited feedback, but if you ask her a question – be sure to be prepared for an honest answer. If something bothers her she’s not afraid to speak out either. She’s a loyal friend and her love language is giving gifts (beware of where they may have come from…) and while she doesn’t seem the type, her love language in the receiving department is words of affirmation. Even though she won’t show it, she loves being validated by others on how she is doing in work and otherwise.
She has a soft spot for children, especially since she still feels like she still is one. She can be somewhat naïve, despite how nosy she is and how much she knows about the world. Her naivety comes to her positive outlook on life (not people necessarily) and wants to believe that her future is a grand one. Humming and happy - going through life and enjoying it.

HISTORY:
Tomilyn's family was a poor lot that originated from Cove Hold. There were already a lot of fisher folk and Tomilyn's grandfather's family, along with a few more families in the community were looking for new opportunities and adventure. They sailed a lot on their 'twin' ships. Each built in the same fashion for deep sea fishing, but also to hold cargo to trade their fish for goods. It was a whole family fair with a few more ships that tagged along and joined up every now and then. The crew grew tired of constantly moving and there were womenfolk with children that complained every time they moved away from a city after staying for a few seven-day. After settling in Southern Boll for some time, they sailed due west until they hit an island below Mavros Cove. A few of the sailors aboard knew about it and deemed the island a good resting spot from their travels. The women-folk, and even some of the men started to build like they were going to stay. There was great discussion about it - thinking they could find a better spot, maybe closer to Mavros bay, but some of the crew wanted to stay far away from the few pirates and unwanted's that frequented the bay to careen their boats.
Rovagold was a story teller and spent most of his time telling stories with some song, the best so called 'harper' that they had. The kids and family would gather around in the evenings around a fire to listen to his wild tales about sea serpents and dragons. As the little town started to settle - they found their location was great for fishing, but were finding it difficult to trade for the things they needed, since fish was plentiful around all the docks. It was Rovagold's father's greed that came up with the idea of 'borrowing' things from other ships, and their twin ships would be perfect to pick out the lone trader vessels going from one shore to another. It was a controversial topic within the town, but after the first goods started showing up, the murmurs started to lessen as life quality started to get better. Rovagold never liked the idea, but he didn't want to leave his growing family - so started up a Tavern: Tunnelsnake Tales.
Over time their small port started to get frequented by curious eyes and usually the less favorable type. If there hadn't been a Tavern to amuse the visiting folk, things could have gotten messy. A time or two they did have skurmishes, but the little hold gained it's repuatation quietly and became unofficially Tunnelsnake hold, named after the Tavern. There was no Holder among them, but it was Rovagold's charm that seemed to keep the little hardly-a-hold safe, so he's usually the one people go to if there's a problem.
Tomilyn grew up working in the Tavern, listening to the highly imaginative stories of her grandfather that her own father said were rubbish. She didn't see much of her father, he captained one of the 'twin' ships. There are five in total ships that called Tunnelsnake their home, but the original twins are still highly idolized and are often the center of Rovagold's stories, despite his bitterness with piracy that he deems now laziness since they hardly did any fishing, which was what they were originally had been designed for. Two of the ships actually do fishing, and one attempts to trade - but hasn't been very successful.
She was 13 when Thread started falling again. She'd only heard stories, but mostly people avoided talking about it - only through the stories of heroic dragons burning Thread from the sky came from her grandfather. Rovagold is a fantastic story teller, striking a sort of imaginative fear in those who listen about the dark things in his stories - in order to make the heroes in his stories that more amazing...but at age 13, Tomilyn realized that her grandfather's stories hadn't quite captured how truly terrible Thread was. They had been lucky to have choosen an island that was just in reach of protection from dragons nearby - but an unlucky ship had been out unprepared, and only a handful made it back, but even then most died from their wounds. Tomilyn had seen the wounds. Her grandmother had once been a healer and helped the one other healer in their town when they were desperate - and this was such a time. All the help was needed, but even with their help, they hadn't had the medicine to save them. At this time, unbeknownst to Tomilyn, the pirates in her home started to up their game to see if they could intercept ships that would hold such medicines so such a thing wouldn't happen again.
For a while after the first Threadfall at 13, Tomilyn avoided going outside, but her adventurous spirit couldn't be held indoors, even with the terrible wounds that she'd seen. Dragons kept them safe, even if just so. When possible, she'd run outside when she knew there was Thread Fall and dragons in the sky. It was a topic to day dream on, which she did daily.
At a young age she started working at the Tavern as a dishwasher and worked her way to prepping food. The older she got, the more responsibilities she was trusted with. Her mother resisted the idea of her only daughter working in the Dining area, but she could hardly keep her out when her grandfather was telling stories. It was at age 14 when she stubbornly started working in the dining area, despite her mother's protests. Her mother taught her a few self defense moves, but Tomilyn found another tutor who knew more after the first drunk man made his advance on her. By the age of 16, most men knew to leave her alone - from her independence, snarky attitude, and ability to take care of herself. From time to time she has to deal with a drunkard, but she's smart enough to avoid such situations for the most part. Really, it's Goldilyn that everyone fears - despite her 'softer' seeming attitude, it was her wrath that they feared more than a scrawny red head's attitude, but Tomilyn is ignorant of this.
Tomilyn's oldest brothers work on the same boat as their father, while her youngest was more repelled by the idea of piracy and had desires elsewhere. Tomilyn spent some time on the ship and went out for a couple of years, learning what it meant to be a pirate - since anyone had the right to try it out when they turned 18. Being the only girl with brothers, she'd grown up playing 'sword' fight and sparring, tussling and rough housing - and got to train with a sword with them so she'd been ready for such a thing. Her first time had been hard, but with every time after that she grew used to the blood and death - as long as she didn't think too hardly about the life she was taking. Just recently her oldest brother died in one of these adventures, and she had been there when it happened. It repelled her deeply against piracy and she's now back at Tunnelsnake Tales, planning her way out. Her father sees her giving up as weak, most likely because she's a girl - and was glad to get the weakness off of his ship.
