Ts'lar ran a hand through her hair, leaning against a stall while keeping an eye out. Maybe she should ferry another person or two while waiting? She stood on the outskirts of the Gather, watching a few other weyrlings drop off passengers before going to the festivities. There were so many people and Serenth's attention was all over the place. A faint headache, though not terrible. Nothing like the skull-splitting pains that occurred at the beginning of weyrlinghood. The only reason she was really here was at T'skel's insistence, though it wasn't as if she felt forced. Large crowds just weren't her thing most of the time.
At last, purplish-blue winked into the sky. There! Serenth bugled happily in greeting, forgetting entirely what her blue brother preferred. Taloth landed on the ground and T'skel slid down. Even though they had been reunited for a month now, Ts'lar still felt relief upon seeing her brother. Serenth attempted to approach Taloth, chittering in greeting. Hello hello! Ts'lar could not hear whatever words were spoken from the blue, but they must've been...eesh. Taloth quickly slunk away to find his own solitude. Serenth mentally wailed, stabbing a knife through the greenweyrling's brain. Ts'lar clutched her forehead in a hand, trying to massage her temples and offset the pain. Looks like they still had a while to go.
Oh mine heart, he threatened to leave claws in my neck! Can he even do that? The green was wildly upset, but Ts'lar was still able to notice her brother's concerned expression as he approached. "Tsela- uh, Ts'lar, are you okay?"
"Just need a minute." She responded, before turning to Serenth. 'I'm sorry love, but you have to keep your distance with Taloth. He doesn't mean it. Other blues will appreciate your friendliness more.' That made Serenth feel slightly better. She needed to divert the green's attention. 'Once Ramacuth arrives, I'm sure he'd he happy to spend time with you.' That was settled. Serenth was now focused on the future and potentially spending time with her bronze clutchmate. The rider let out a sigh of relief.
"We're good now. I hope Taloth doesn't make good on his promise to- what was it? Leave claws in Serenth's neck." The last words were laced with bitterness, but she immediately regretted the tone. T'skel didn't seem to notice much.
"He's just like that. Super mysterious and all. He doesn't actually do stuff like that." And then brother wrapped sister in a hug. "We're all gonna have a good day! Oh, I dunno if she's coming today, but if she is I have someone to introduce you to. Her name's Isali and she's in my class! And I dunno if she leans that way, but she's pretty." T'skel's grin turned mischievous. Ts'lar caught on to his change in tone, and her face flushed like nothing before.
Several words tried to come out at once and it turned into blubbering. At least, before Ts'lar gave up on words and her tongue stuck out in retort. "Pffbt!" T'skel went into a giggling fit, blending in with several other roars of laughter around the area. "Not here!" She was keenly aware that this was a Hold, and she'd forgotten how loud her brother could be.
"What! It's not like anybody would care."
"I'm sure many would care."
And thus ensued sibling squabbling.
