PB : Odeya Rush
NAME: Aileece
RANK: Weyrfolk
AGE: 14
GENDER: Female
ORIENTATION: Bisexual
PETS: Brown Benden [firelizard][x]
APPEARANCE: Aileece is a short, slender young woman still growing into her body and shape. She has long, curly dark brown hair and pale blue eyes. She tends to move with grace and a sort of careful movement, making sure she never runs into others.
PERSONALITY FAULTS:
Introvert - Aileece has always had a difficult time around those outside a select few, and due to her deafness finds it hard to connect with new people. She prefers the company of her family and those few close friends she retained after her accident. Her best friend is her firelizard Benden.
Blunt and Brutally Honest : Aileece never quite learned the subtle habits of being able to not speak her mind, to not speak the absolute truth even when it may hurt someone else. She believes that telling them things the way they are, in a plain way, is better than beating around the bush on a matter.
Overworks herself : Taking a cue from her brother Aileece has come to believe that all things can be overcome and completed if she just keeps pushing herself to take care of a matter. This has led to her collapsing on more than one occassion.
Timid : Aileece tends to keep to herself and doesn't like opening her mouth to speak her mind unless she's under extreme duress, and even then she's more likely to devolve into tears rather than speak out against someone.
PERSONALITY STRENGTHS:
Loyal : Family comes first, and anyone that has shown loyalty towards she and her family deserve it in return. She has always strongly believed that loyalty towards an idiviudal is earned rather than a guarantee.
Practical : Things in her life have changed, and she accepts that she has to change with them. Aileece handles the world around her in simple, practical terms, and continues to search out the most likely outcome is usually the one she takes action on.
Calm and Level-headed : Aileece is quiet and is able to sit still and calm in a room even when things are chaotic around her.
Observant : She's good at observing the world around her and pickes up on things others might have missed. This has allowed her to pick up physical cues to tell her what someone might be saying, as well as learning to read lips with decent accuracy.
FAMILY:
A'vrn [father, brownrider]
Gaelei [mother, Dragonhealer]
G'vrn [brother, Weyrling, 21]
HISTORY:
Aileece was the second and final child of A'vrn and Galei, two residents of Monaco Bay Weyr. Her older brother Gaverin looked out for her most of the time as her parents were too busy during the day. Once they were both old enough to go to harper lessens she thrived, soaking up whatever stories and advice the Harper chose to give them that day. Life was simpler, happy. She believed in her family, and wanted only the best for them. She didn't think much of becomming a dragonrider like her father, as she felt she'd be better suited to helping make the healing ointments then out fighting thread. Leave that mess to the boys.
Aileece was eleven years old when she found the last egg of an otherwise hatched wild firelizard clutch. She felt bad that it had been left behind, as it didn't hatch with the others. By day's end, with much feeding, she met who would be her dearest of friends; her beloved brown flitt whom she named Benden.
But then Gaverin was Searched. She cheered her brother on every single time he Stood, even when her parents told her not to. He deserved to hear someone to cheer for him, to tell him that he'd get it next time as hatching after hatching he failed to Impress. She knew he'd Impress. Father was a dragonrider, so Gaverin would be too. She helped him keep his spirit up as the years went on without a dragon calling for him.
Then, when when she was 13, she was Searched. Her first hatching would be her brother's last, and she stood at with all the other hopefuls and wondered if she'd find a dragon. And hoped that things would work out. Twelve eggs hatched, and that magical, lucky thirteenth, produced a beautiful blue dragonet that happily waded its way into the crowd to claim her brother as his own. Gaverin finally Impressed.
Six months after, with her family now all busy with their own lives, Aileece chose to go out to collect shells by the shore with some of her friends. The day was overcast but they went anyway, agreeing to go back the second it seemed a storm was coming. The first crack of thunder sent the scattering, but Aileece didn't move fast enough. A bolt of lightning struck just next to her, leaving a scorch mark in its wake and sending her to the ground with her ears bleeding.
She went straight to the healer with her ears ringing and her world gone silent. The healer told her everything would be fine, told her parents that it was temporary, that her hearing would come back eventually. But it never did.
Her brother became her lifeline to the outside world, and it was from him that she learned that the choice had been made; she would no longer be able to Stand. That first night, safe in her parents home, she cried herself to sleep. Though she had never originally thought herself to be rider material, having it taken away from her hurt worse than anything.
Her only solace was the frequent trips outside to fly with Gaverin and Zakarith once they were able. It would be the closest she ever came to a dragon of her own. She had no idea, therefore, what her brother was planning when he asked her to go for a trip over the Weyr one cloudy day.
It was normal, their ritual, to fly over the weyr when his duties didn't conflict with it, to just be free for a little while, where it didn't matter that she couldn't hear him talking to her. But they headed away from home, further and further, and a storm brewed, coming to strength around them.
Zakarith would fight the storm for their lives, and eventually stuff them both into a cave on a cliff side and block the exit until the storm blew over. Now, lost and unsure of where they are or what's going to happen to them, Aileece has begun a brand new adventure.
IN THE EVENT OF YOUR SUDDEN, UNEXPLAINED DISAPPEARANCE FROM THE SITE AT ANY POINT IN TIME, WHAT DO YOU WISH TO BECOME OF THIS CHARACTER AND ANY CREATURES THEY MAY IMPRESS?
