Turn 2761, Mid 12th Month
Nalyra
It was nearing mid month and it was difficult not to overhear the many conversations around the harbor cavern about the upcoming vote for Mavros’s new Lord Holder. For whatever reason, Treyjen was all about talking up Asirikai to the crew. It was just a little odd. There wasn’t much reason everyone couldn’t just make up their own minds, but her brother knew how much influence he had, and he was using it in the man’s favor. He could give her all the excuses he wanted about how he thought Asirikai would be the best choice for them, that with him there might just be a chance to start fresh and leave piracy behind, but Nalyra didn’t quite buy it. She didn’t know what had happened between the two after his sharding spitting menace had chased her off, but she was curious to learn more about him herself rather than taking her brother’s word for it. The majority of the crew might be happy enough to throw their support behind whoever Treyjen chose to support himself, but she could make up her own mind. And hopefully have a little fun while she was at it.
Despite her offer to show the man around Mavros when they’d first met, she hadn’t sought Asirikai out after their initial encounter, too angry about how Treyjen had chased her off to be reminded of it so soon. But she supposed with the voting coming up, she ought to form some sort of opinion about the candidates. In the end, it just seemed like a bunch of pompous, entitled men squabbling for power, and she hardly believed any of them would truly be much different than the next, but on the off chance one of them impressed her somehow, she would like to meet them. Might as well start with the Threadspore she knew, aye?
Since her return, she’d heard plenty about them all from the people in the caverns she threw marks to in order to keep her informed, so she wasn’t going in completely blind, but she still wanted to get a better impression of them all personally if she could manage it. If she couldn’t, she at least wanted to know if her brother’s endorsement of Asirikai was worth listening to. Treyjen did seem to play politics far better than she did, not that she’d openly admit it. She just didn’t have the patience for it most of the time, or the stomach to swallow all the wherryshit that went with it. Particularly since she was a woman and her opinion in political circles was rarely taken seriously the few times she had even made any attempt.
It wasn’t difficult to find out just where Asirikai was staying and she made sure to visit him quite late in the day so it would be far more likely he would be there rather than out and about, trying to win himself more votes. And well, winning her vote might just take all night. She smirked to herself at the thought as she knocked on his door, thinking back to those strong arms of his. She’d gotten a little bit of a feel before she’d been chased off. She certainly wouldn’t mind exploring more of him. “Do you have time to entertain a prospective supporter, my lord?” she called in a low, sultry tone as she leaned against the door frame, waiting to be invited inside.
