He waved his hand, “Don’t misconstrue my words. I didn’t say I didn’t care, I said I didn’t feel bad. There’s a difference. I care if she was hurt by it, but it wasn’t my fault… entirely.” It was a little his fault. He would apologize to the green if he saw her, though if she no longer remembered as Siorreya said it might not be necessary. He looked down at the much smaller woman, considering her explanation, and felt an odd sort of satisfaction that the green seemed to enjoy his company. Maybe she just liked anyone willing to play with her, but he’d take it either way. More pressing was his curiosity over how Siorreya seemed to imply that she did more than observe the green’s mood, but, perhaps, felt it herself? He knew dragons and their riders had a connection obviously but was that a thing? Feeling each other’s feelings?
“So you… can feel what she feels?” he quirked a brow at her slightly, wondering at how odd that would be, to feel emotions that weren’t his. He was having a difficult enough time with his own emotions at the moment without adding in someone else’s. And that brought up that the reverse could also be true, yes? “Hm… what else is shared between a dragon and their rider? Are your minds just constantly open to each other? Emotions, thoughts… dreams?” He had hardly forgotten that the green had given him a new nickname last they saw each other. He still hadn’t really been sure just where she could have come up with such a thing, but if dragons could even share in their rider’s dreams then that could be an explanation. Which meant Siorreya had dreamt of him, at least once.
Her feigned innocence had him rolling his eyes. She sure liked to play at innocence recently. But when she continued her tone took on a different cadence and she gave him a suggestive look that was anything but innocent. He laughed and couldn’t help but tease, “Oh, is that so? Here I thought it might be annoyance and frustration that you preferred to inspire.” Considering how she had very clearly been trying to elicit such reactions from him with Asirikai only a few moments ago, calling him my Lord right there in front of him. Just thinking about it now roused his annoyance once more.
But he’d rather not dwell on it. He had too many things to work out over what had just happened, and he could hardly do so in Siorreya’s presence. “Are you going to ask your question or have you tired of this game?” He smirked, challenging, “Or perhaps it’s only that you wish to delay your next turn?”
