Jinsoo - Wher Candidate
The deluge of curiosity caused him to blink a few times, but his experience with spontaneous emotions and activity during labor for the many animals he had cared for kept his feet firmly rooted and his hands gentle. There was no demand or intrusiveness behind the questioning attitude, maybe that was why he felt didn’t flinch from the barrage. It reminded him of his daughter at a younger age, trailing him while checking on the livestock. The constant torrent of question after question, most of the time not waiting for one to be answered before asking another. He missed that stage. Being with her had been so much easier. The companionship without the demand.
He looked up to Juvelsk when she gave her cautionary advice. His eyes swiveled to her keeper, then looked back down at the egg in his hands. Trouble? Again, his daughter at the age of three, popped into his head. Dirty from head to toe, she had rolled in the mud outside the bovine pen, giggling the whole way. When he had brought her back to her aunt, his sister had been furious. “Why do you have to be so much trouble, Jinli? You should know better.” She had grabbed the little girl’s arm roughly, starting to lead her away. “Really, Jinsoo, couldn’t you take care of her for just a few hours?” The words had been spoken in anger. He knew that. His jaw tightened as he picked up the smaller egg. His stubborn pride peaked. He was capable. He cradled it in his arms, looking to the Wher, bowing ever so slightly.
“Aren’t we all a little trouble?” He gave another very small smile, barely tangible, and turned on his heel. As he walked out of the room, he wondered what he had gotten himself into. He looked to his egg, and shook his head.
“I guess we will just have to see who is more trouble, won’t we?” He asked quietly to the egg. He nodded to the beast master and turned for his room, mentally planning the egg’s needs.
