F'ang/Gaburuth
'Faster, mine! Tell her to go faster!' Laspherith's 'easy' pace was testing the limits of 'Ruth's speed at his current stage of development. The only reason F'ang could think of that he wasn't straining is that Gaburuth is a few thousand pounds of dragon less than he would be at full growth. While the bronze would never be as fast as Laspherith, his flight duration would be significantly longer. If he really wanted to fly Laspherith when he's old enough to chase, he wouldn't have to fly faster than her. He'd just have to outlast her, he thought to himself, trying to be careful about not letting 'Ruth hear him, though it may as well have been as if he hadn't tried at all. 'We will chase Laspherith when she wants us to chase her, Mine. She will let us catch her when she wants us to chase her.' Now how could you know that already? 'Ruth didn't even have to word his response. He could feel the waves of reverence rolling from his Bonded that usually accompanied his litany.
'You will do your people things, Mine. I will do my dragon things. We will do our things. You will jump. I will fly. We will soar.' The bronze pauses, accelerating in the air to pull ahead of Laspherith and look back at the trio behind him. 'She will soar with us if she wishes,' he broadcasts after River's comment of most bronzes aiming for gold during mating flights, the bronze not able to slow himself as quickly as Laspherith and having to glide a lazy circle before setting down beside Laspherith and preening himself.
As for F'ang, getting off Laspherith is a much simpler affair than getting on had been. As soon as Laspherith's hindlegs hit the ground, F'ang's already unhooked one of his straps and wrapped the slack of the other around his hand to tighten it, free hand gripping the dragon's harness itself and slides back far enough to free enough room to slide a leg over and jump down while also disconnecting the second strap. He hits the ground with a thump of heavy boots and the rustling of his riding leathers settling before turning to River.
"After you," he says, motioning with his hands in the direction of the Crafthall. We shouldn't be long, 'Ruth. Keep Laspherith company, will you, and don't eat the herd. If you're hungry when we get back, we'll go hunting. 'I will be the Watchdragon.'
