Treyvin;
There was a moment of uneasiness, perhaps regret? It was one of those things when it came to feelings – trying to categorize feelings that swept from one spectrum to the next with plenty of gray area and overlapping. Treyvin felt his own disappointment when L’rey refused to go into detail, but it also confirmed that L’rey had been leaving out details on purpose. There were conflicting feelings of hope and confusion when L’rey explained that some people thought their father had been wrong, even though Treyjen had had good intent. He hated it when feelings conflicted, the crashing of feelings gave more of a headache.
“What do you think?... I mean, do you think he was doing it for the right reasons? Or, do you think he was wrong?” It was a gamble; either there would be more conflicting feelings or he’d figure out which feeling fit where – like a puzzle.
He left with his sister, but left L’rey? It sounded like L’rey had been young, perhaps just too long for such a trip? And what of L’rey’s mother? That piece of knowledge was nagging him, another puzzle with a gaping missing piece.
Treyvin was faintly aware of the one-sided conversation, but he was rather glad of it. L’rey didn’t dig for information. It was… refreshing, yet at the same time, he wondered if it was because L’rey didn’t care.
There were feelings that Treyvin enjoyed when he was in isolated interactions. Amusement was one of them. It was annoying that it left him open to interpretation and imagination. Maybe L’rey had been rambunctious when he was younger? Perhaps more trouble-making? Was there still part of that person left in him? They weren’t so old to have to grow up.
Treyvin watched L’rey as they walked the dim lit Weyr tunnels. Of course L’rey was happy, he had a bronze dragon. He felt like he didn’t need to point out that it was mostly L’rey having adventures… though technically Treyvin had gone back in time – a once in a lifetime occurrence… his mind struggled with this idea that he was already on an adventure, when he had always imagined the adventure out at sea on a boat. He blinked at the rider when he amended his wording to include Treyvin. A soft smile spread across his face. He had this sudden urge to throw himself at L’rey in a hug, but having practiced controlling himself when it came to random feelings, he just smiled. “Yeah, I guess so. Except you ended up with the bronze in the adventure.” He found himself teasing L’rey, his insides twisting with a small amount of anxiety – wondering how he’d react to the teasing.
“Have you visited Tillek since impressing?” Hoping the question would distract if L’rey felt uncomfortable with his earlier remark.
