Mar?
Yes, love?
Pretty.
The whisper-like sound of her dragon's voice and the comment made her look up from the wild herbs she had been collecting, which were few and far between. Her dragon had grown considerably, though she was still frail and tiny looking in comparison to even her smallest of sisters. She was sweet and gentle, however, as anyone with half a brain could see if they would just give her a chance.
The scene before her filled her with happiness and love for her dragon. She was laying as flat on the ground as she could, the breath from her nose causing a single blue flower to dance before her. Her tail flipped around behind her as her lithe green form wiggled a bit like a small feline ready to pounce on something. Sonath, of course, was about as likely to pounce on the flower as she was to hurt someone.
No hurt, Mar, Sonath said, one whirling blue eye considering her rider for a long moment. Mari couldn't help but smile at her sweet girl. No, no hurt my love., she told her and set her basket down before walking over to where Sonath was crouched. "That's a very pretty flower you found.", she told her as she sat beside her head and planted a kiss beside her eye. Sonath closed her eyes and rumbled softly then gave a chirp, flooding her rider with happiness and love for her.
"Such a sweet girl." She scratched her lightly, much to Sonath's pleasure. "You watch your flower while I finish looking for herbs, okay?", she asked as she stood back up. Sonath answered with a warble then went back to her flower as Mari moved away and back to her basket. She was always glad for days when her dragon was happy and as carefree as she could be, all things considered.
A while later she had moved a bit farther from Sonath but could feel the green's attention on her so she knew she wasn't too far away. She couldn't wait until Sonath was old enough that they could go farther from the weyr. She wanted to explore and she was willing to bet there would be more herbs on the other islands nearby. She was distracted from her thoughts by the sudden excitement she felt from Sonath. She was under the cover of a few trees so she did not initially see what her dragon was excited about. Her soft bugle of welcome told her there was another dragon there. Mari had a small moment of panic as Sonath never remembered those who made her feel bad in the past, so she was never sure if the excitement was good or not when she couldn't instantly see the cause of it. She lifted the hem of her pale blue riding skirt and, with her basket in hand, went running toward her dragon to try to ward off any damages or hurt feelings that might be incurred.
When she slid to a stop next to her dragon she was already on alert, ready to defend her dragon from anyone who thought to bully her. The sight that greeted her, however, was a massive bronze dragon touching down, his wings causing short bursts of wind which stirred up dust and bits of grass. Mastromideth. She left out a puff of breath, worry instantly gone. She relaxed and smiled as the bronze settled himself and his rider prepared to dismount. She had very little reason to mingle with any of the bronzeriders outside of her fellow weyrlings generally, but G'rett wasn't like most other bronzeriders or most other people for that matter. He received extra bonus points for also being a healer, like her.
Sonath had curled herself up around her precious flower to protect it, and also to try to hide behind Mari. Her rider was feeling defensive and that generally meant something wasn't right, so she was worried and warbled at her gently. Taking her eyes from the bronze pair, she flooded her dragon with love and reassurances that she was fine and nothing was wrong. I'm sorry love, they just startled me, that's all. It's Mastromideth and his rider, G'rett, it's alright. They are friends and won't hurt your flower. This made Sonath perfectly happy again and uncurled herself a bit and looked up at Mastromideth from behind her rider's legs, warbled at him quietly, a bit as a way of saying hello.
She turned back to said dragon and rider after setting her basket down beside Sonath. She tucked her hair behind her ears so that it was out of her face and called out a greeting, offering a small wave as well. "Well met, G'rett. Dare I ask what brings you out this way?", she asked with a slightly arched brow, curious as always.
