G'rett - Bronze Mastromideth
Hiko
It was good to see her in better spirits. Making a mental note to make the effort to talk to her more often and keep her like this, G’rett drifted along in her wake. He grinned, watching her balance her way ahead of him as if on an imaginary beam. Yes… much better than how she had been when he had found her, at least in his mind. Behind him, Mastromideth wadded into the water a bit; not enough to soak his gear, but enough that he sank to about his elbows in the front, wandering gently along in the wake of the riders and the swimming Blue. G’rett liked this; it was a nice break from the final stress of the lessons that would thrust the remaining members of his and Mollin’s clutch class into being actual, functional Dragonriders.
He let the thought go, focusing on happier things – he didn’t want to dwell on those; he wasn’t ready in his mind, and Mollin wouldn’t be with them as they moved into Wings. It wouldn’t be fun for her when they were all playing at adults and she was stuck behind. She’d make it though. She was strong enough, G’rett decided. “Getting sun is good for you; just not too much that you burn.” He grinned. “Always tell people to get a little sun, not just for the color and so you don’t look like a wherhandler, but it helps you just feel healthier to be out in the sun and fresh air.”
Not sure he would make much of a ‘good luck charm’, he just shook his head. “Well, if we hear something up high, we can always have the big guy over here give you a boost up.” G’rett jerked a thumb in the direction of the wadding Bronze. “Not sure he could get you to the top of the rocks, but he could get you up higher then I think I’d be willing to climb.” He let her move a bit more ahead, taking a glance at the sands around them. “If we, or you, find more than a couple, we should haul them back to the Weyr, I’m sure you’d have all sorts of people hopping to ask for an egg.” He grinned, picking up the pace to move a little closer so they wouldn’t have to shout. “Not sure why mind you. Haella has a part of the little things – one is cold and rude, the other reminds me of a fast, spoiled lap canine.”
