"On a trip out of the weyr, you come across a small volcanic fissure that has created a hotpool complete with a bubbling hot spring. You decide to call friends there with you, to share the surprise."
Srunae :: Gold Danovelith
10th Pass, 5th Turn, 4th Month
Srunae :: Gold Danovelith
Ohh my legs are sore... Srunae thought as she slid down her gold's back and to the ground. She stretched immensely and started doing several other stretches, trying to work out the kinks in her muscles from sitting still for so long. You weren't the one flying, you know... The ten month old Danovelith took up a spot in the leaf litter and moss not far from Hers, laying out and looking around with some interest as she stretched her lovely dappled wings. The pair had been flying about all day, practicing on their day off and enjoying the sights around the island. It was time for a break, the two had agreed, and so they had set down near mount Chariath, the volcano housing the Mavros hatching sands. As Srunae stretched, she caught sight of a glinting spark amidst the carpet of earthy tones and tree roots, giving her pause. Wait... what's that? She thought, attracting her dragon's attention. The pale gold lifted her head from the ground, squinting off into the distance as her beloved started off in that direction, head tilted to one side before returning to a more comfortable and run-appropriate position.
She gasped as she came into a rock and grass clearing, an excited smile creeping onto her lips.
Srunae stood in awe of the sight before her, almost disbelieving that such a place could still exist, untouched. "Wow..." She breathed, taking in the scene before her with reverence. It truly was a lovely little spot, hidden away amidst the redwoods and early slopes up to mount chariath, all green and brown and gold in the sun peeking through the canopy. Crystal clear water bubbled up from a reddened fissure in the grey rocks cradling a small hill, the steaming liquid running into a neat little oval pool within a weather and erosion gouged alcove. Soft moss, warmed rock, and cool timber surrounded the little spring, tying it all together into a beautiful natural phenomena. It was truly a lovely little haven for the tired, aching weyrling. Danovelith eyed the little pools and shifted into a comfortable spot nearer to them, so as to better keep an eye on her Srunae. This is amazing... Srunae thought, excited for the chance to relax in a completely untouched hot pool. You could invite company too... The beastcrafter paused, glancing back at her dragon with a raised eyebrow. Danovelith's tone had been rather sly, laced with humor and teasing undertones, and the pale dragon chuffed from her spot in the trees, leaving her bonded with an amused warmth.
...You're talking about A'zael, aren't you? She felt her cheeks vaguely warm up, and not from the hotpool she now stood so close to either. This was a hotpool... chances were neither of them would get in with much clothing. While the idea was quite... entertaining, to say the least... Srunae emotionally grappled with a few strings of embarrassment, insecurity, and overall shyness. She enjoyed teasing A'zael, and the verbal back and forth was, in many ways, an amazing stress reliever itself - but... well. The last time she had decided to follow him to a more... private locale, it hadn't been private at all. And, while she doubted that any children of A'zael's would pop out of the bushes or come swinging in on vines, something she wondered then she couldn't help but wonder now. If Azora hadn't been there...
What would have happened?
It wasn't that she didn't trust A'zael to behave in such a situation... it was more that she wasn't sure how she should behave. He was the weyrleader, and she was still a weyrling for Faranth's sake! He was her friend, of course, and she really, really enjoyed spending time with him, and this would surely turn out to be quite fun... but... well. What was proper protocol for something like this? Strip to the skivvies? Leave on a shirt and shorts? Just act as you normally do. Do not worry. A small smile crossed Srunae's lips and she leaned against a rock, one eyebrow rising as she looked back over to her gold. You just want to spend time with Fath, don't you? Danovelith huffed indignantly, neck gracefully curving to allow her full view of her rider. What ever would make you say that? She said, tone hinting at being offended, but really just amused. Of course Danovelith would enjoy Fath's company - the bronze adored lavishing her with compliments, and Danovelith, vain as she was, positively adored being lavished in compliments. Not to mention, of course, that the bronze was too simple to try and be manipulative about his courting; he truly just thought she was beautiful, and Danovelith loved every moment of it.
Srunae shook her head, wandering back to her bonded and retrieving a satchel off her straps, chuckling. Well, If you think so, love. Danovelith smiled warmly in the back of her mind, entirely content with this decision. I will be enjoying Fath's company enough to not be bothered by your silliness. She said, nothing but love in that sentence despite the teasing take on it. Of course. Srunae laughed, stuffing her flight jacket into the satchel and fishing around for something she felt comfortable soaking. Go ahead and call them, by the time they get here I'll have settled on something to swim in. Annnnd there was the nervousness again. Sharditall, relax... it's just A'zael...
Shells.
Fath, would you and Yours like to spend some time with myself and My Own? She has found a hotpool she would like to share with Yours, though she is nervous about asking.
Gee, thanks for broadcasting that to him. The sarcasm was palpable in that statement, but Danovelith simply smiled, a warm, comforting feeling in the back of Srunae's mind.
Of course, darling. I am sure Fath's will do his best to help you relax.
