Srunae : Gold Danovelith
I am truly sorry to drag you from playing with those... canines, darling, but it is time for my bath, you know. Somewhere in the back of her mind, Srunae knew that Danovelith was merely using her afternoon bath as an excuse to get the weyrling out of the beastcraft pens and their muddy, messy inhabitants and in the lake for her own good. Oh certainly not dear. I just feel an itch on my left side I need taken care of... With just how big her left side was getting, Srunae couldn't be terribly surprised that the gold was starting to feel itchy. While Danovelith was anything but a gangly, awkward young queen, she was still growing-of course her hide would be stretching and thus getting itchy in the process.
Srunae almost didn't want to imagine just how big the gold would be-even though she wasn't going to be nearly as big as Sularenth. Poor Melana; she'd be cleaning that hide for candlemarks before one leg would be done if Sularenth turned out to be as big as she was looking to become. But, as Srunae looked down at herself, she figured she could use a bath just as much. Her clothes, obviously of the working variety, were caked with mud, slobber, and who knew what else, the pants anything but clean and the shirt smudged by various paw prints from canines jumping up on her. Her hair was tousled and loosely curling about in the air, having escaped the runnertail it had been stuffed into earlier. While she certainly wasn't clean, much to Danovelith's chagrin, her smudged face and bright eyes were alight with joy. At least she had enjoyed some fun before the role model gold had reigned her back in.
Said pale gold daintily slipped into the chilled water, undeterred by the fleeting chill of winter, and went about wetting down her hide. Oh come now Srunae, this can be just as much fun, you know. You love splashing about in the lake. The weyrling rolled her eyes, smiling at the gentle adoration in Danovelith's soft, melodic voice. That may be. But it's gotten colder, you know. Being in the water isn't as nice as it was. An indoor bathing pool large enough for the quickly growing dragonets would be an improvement for the barracks she would have to look into after graduation. That would be lovely, wouldn't it? The barracks themselves could stand to be... enlarged, after all. Srunae stifled a laugh; Danovelith was being polite about it, but after having been embarrassingly stuck in the entrance to the barracks, it was no secret things needed to be... widened. Sularenth had to have gotten stuck even more than Danovelith had, after all. Actually... some of those bronze boys probably had been pretty close to stuck as of late too.
Hmmm... things to ponder indeed. Srunae grabbed her sweetsand and brush as Danovelith came back into the shallows, and slowly found her way through the chilly water and to her dragon's warm side. Ah yes, right there. Now all we need is a little company.
