News While Mavros awaits the next gold to rise and take Karredy's place as Senior after her abdication, the Lord of Jask Hold celebrates his wedding with a grand gather and the Weyr attends for some much needed fun and relaxation, as well as to perform in dragon races as part of the wedding celebration.
Some might find the task of caring for a rider’s dragon a little demeaning, especially for a Candidate, but not Belizor. He quite enjoyed getting to spend time with a creature as wonderful as Pallath. She was the prettiest green he’d ever seen—not that he didn’t think that about ever dragon he saw—and he’d become rather taken with her over the past few months. But then, who could rightly blame him? She was rather wonderful as far as dragons went even if she’d accidentally knocked him into the lake already…twice, requiring him to peel off both his tunic, leaving him in a pair of linen pants that now clung to his muscled legs and other muscled bits of him.
Undaunted by the change in wardrobe, Belizor continued his task, scrubbing the pale green hide of the dragon diligently. What would it be like to one day care for a dragon of his own? Though he hadn’t really though about it, he really only had two more turns to find out before he aged out of Candidacy. But thoughts like that were rarely on the man’s mind. He generally didn’t think much more than a few days ahead, at most a sevenday.
Stepping back, Bel looked up at Pallath and smiled. “Did I miss any place?”

Pallath sighed as she dipped her head and 'accidentally' knocked Belizor into the water. Again. I am not enjoying this, mine. She liked the not-rider, almost as much as she enjoyed athletics and Rau. He was very good about cleaning her and quite polite... even if he would talk to her feet, for some reason. This wasn't her cuppa klah.
Of course not, Rau leaned back, appreciating the view as the water dripped down his friend's body. He stretched his arms back over his head and then rested his head on them, with a slight sigh of contentment. I am.
"I think you missed a spot!" Rau called. Lady preened on his shoulder, enjoying that the big not-fluffy thing which disobeyed her orders was feeling displeased.
Pallath fixed them both with a stare, and then, with the dragon equivalent of a sigh, 'tripped', landing right in the muddy shore by the river, coating her belly and legs with mud. It upset her to pretend how that she was not completely in control, but Rau had been... lonely lately, and unhappy. He was enjoying himself now and that was enough for the green to have done anything.
"Palla! Are you alright?" R'get shouted, standing up, real concern written on his features. He had not known she would do that.
Idiot. He will take longer now.
"Be careful of your wounds," he allowed, and sat down, his brow still furrowed slightly.
I am fine. I suppose you shall be glad to know that there are several riders on their way
The greenrider chuckled. He'd sent along a message to all his friends in the weyr who'd be interested, through Pallath, a little earlier on. He had made a potluck of it--anyone who could grab something from the kitchens would be much appreciated!
He only felt a tiny bit bad for Belizor--but not really. It made for a great time. What the kid wasn't aware of, wouldn't hurt him.
And, besides! He liked hanging out with Pallath, yes? So no big deal.
I like Belizor best Palla mused, with deliberate sweetness.
Good, 'cause you're going to stand there and let him wash you.
Pallath snorted. She would be glad when hers was done with this mood. In her opinion, it ill-suited him. But for now, she would do as asked.
If you wish to join the thread but don't have a PC that would come? Please feel free to NPC a character. Here is a list of NPCs that you can use right here if you'd like -- except for B'nar, who is not invited because of reasons. Anyone who Rau wouldn't have invited, for whatever reason, can show up anyway--maybe they overheard someone talking or followed the sudden influx of greens in the sky? Who knows? Have fun!
