The Weyrs
Fort Weyr
Weyr Colors: Brown/Black
Weyrwoman: Madia of Gold Faunorath
Age: 43 Turns
Of a long line of Fortian riders, Madia has been known to be a bit uppity with riders from other Weyrs, having an immense amount of pride in Fort being the first Weyr (which obviously makes it the best). She seems to have some delusion that the other Weyrs ought to defer to Fort's judgment on matters that affect them all, which obviously rarely ends well for her. As such, she tends to have a tense relationship with the other weyrleaders. She is an effective Weyrwoman otherwise (predictably tending toward conservative) and though her gold has been known to stray in her attentions, she seems to have three favorite bronzes, keeping leadership relatively consistent.Weyrleader: J’yer of Bronze Trelwith
Age: 34 Turns
J'yer is the youngest of the three men that have been rotating through the Weyrleader position since Madia became Weyrwoman, nearly a decade younger than Madia herself but by no means inexperienced. He is also the most progressive of the three, which has him at odds with Madia on occasion, though they at least are generally able to compromise and keep the Weyr as a whole fairly moderate in their policies while he leads. J'yer is favored among the younger riders, and by the other weyrleaders in general for his willingness to tell Madia when she needs to back off and stuff it. The two of them have a sort of unspoken agreement that she handles relationships with the Holds while he manages their relationships with the other Weyrs.Goldriders: 5
Benden Weyr
Weyr Colors: Red/Black
Weyrwoman: Piara of Gold Jurivoth
Age: 31 Turns
Friendly, with a bubbly personality, though she can be overly emotional, Piara is generally well liked by anyone that meets her. In her policies she is firmly rooted in the middle of the road. She believes that the traditions that are in place on Pern are there for good reason, but with intelligent argument can be convinced to back more progressive ideas. She doesn't entirely approve of girls on male dragons, but a dragon's choice is a dragon's choice and it isn't something she is vocal about, nor does she take harassment of girls on blues lightly. She and her gold are both fickle in their affections and Jurivoth is rarely caught by the same bronze twice in a row, leaving Benden's leadership in quite the flux since her ascent to Weyrwoman shortly before the onset of the Pass.Weyrleader: H’dor of Bronze Pelnioth
Age: 47 Turns
H'dor is a very easygoing man and, like his Weyrwoman, tends toward moderate in his policies. He does not like extremes, doesn't like rocking the boat or causing waves, and is always for negotiating compromise so everyone gets at least a little bit of what they want out of a debate. However, as one that dislikes conflict so much, his easygoing nature dissipates quickly under such conditions, turning into a reactionary temper. Troublemakers do not stay long at Benden under H'dor's leadership, for he simply has no patience for them upsetting the balance of his Weyr.Goldriders: 6
Igen Weyr
Weyr Colors: Yellow/Black
Weyrwoman: Hallon of Gold Blonoth
Age: 48 Turns
The elder sister of the Lord Holder of Igen, Hallon has always held some resentment toward her brother for inheriting the Hold, but instead of waiting to be married off, she accepted Search as a girl when there was a gold on Igen's Sands, determined to be more than just a Lady, taking a backseat to a Lord Holder husband. Needless to say she Impressed. Since becoming Weyrwoman, she has done very well and is in general well liked, with a pleasant personality and an easy laugh. When it comes to her brother, however, she is incredibly antagonistic and quite enjoys having the upper hand on him now that the Pass has begun; she has great fun aggressively negotiating tithe agreements with him. Her gold is a fickle beast, rarely caught by the same bronze twice in a row, and as such she generally does not waste time developing any sort of lasting relationship with her Weyrleaders.Weyrleader: W’dorin of Bronze Chatigeth
Age: 27 Turns
W'dorin had only just been raised to a Wingleader when his bronze caught Hallon's gold, installing him as Weyrleader. Some two decades the Weyrwoman's junior, he has taken to leaning heavily on the more experienced woman, eager to keep his insecurity over his inexperience hidden from the rest of the Weyr. Hallon has been immensely helpful as a support to him, and he respects the woman a great deal, more than willing to throw his support behind anything she suggests. He is overall a decent Weyrleader and does well in the position, despite his misgivings about his own abilities.Goldriders: 4
Nevarine of Gold Nanamath (Retired Weyrwoman)
Talera of Gold Aerroth
Rosilu of Gold Jesinath
Ista Weyr
Weyr Colors: Orange/Black
Weyrwoman: Lidana of Gold Veltioth
Age: 26 Turns
The beloved daughter of the Istan Lord Holder, she was maneuvered into her position as Weyrwoman by the previous Senior in order to all but ensure Ista Hold's unwavering support for the Weyr. Lidana is still young, with many turns ahead of her as Weyrwoman. A proper lady, Lidana is quite politically savvy and has taken to her role very well. She can, however, often come off quite pompous and is easily offended. She is incredibly conservative, with colorist views giving her a very low opinion of blue and green riders. Luckily her counterpart does well to make up for it.Weyrleader: M’sul of Bronze Xionth
Age: 42 Turns
Older, more experienced, and a deal more progressive than his Weyrwoman, M'sul has done well to work around Lidana's biases without overly straining their relationship while also keeping the blue and green riders of his Weyr relatively happy. He is a very well liked Weyrleader for his abilities to compromise and find happy mediums. However, he often gets too wrapped up with being liked and his authority suffers due to lax discipline.Goldriders: 4
Telgar Weyr
Weyr Colors: White/Black
Weyrwoman: Sava of Gold Dezmoth
Age: 51 Turns
Holdborn and raised by very conservative parents, Sava is very much a traditionalist, though others would call her hidebound. Though she grudgingly accepts girls on greens, she does not have a high opinion of them, and considers girls on blues to be freaks of nature on part of both rider and dragon. Women on blues rarely remain long at Telgar as Sava pushes them off on other Weyrs and refuses to accept such transfers. Surprisingly, she is not terribly colorist, and men on blues and greens are treated with the appropriate amount of respect as befits them as dragonriders. Proper protocol and etiquette are very important to her and she can be a bit touchy when they are ignored. Much to her annoyance, her gold is fickle, though she at least has her favorites, so she is generally familiar with the few men she has had to work with as Weyrleader, but every so often Dezmoth will choose an entirely new mate. Where her Weyrleader is involved, she takes a submissive role, a product of her conservative upbringing.Weyrleader: G’zon of Bronze Rintuth
Age: 45 Turns
G'zon is of the same traditional mind as his Weyrwoman. Though more accepting of girls on greens, he is just as steadfastly against girls on blues, and is more than willing to transfer such women out of Telgar at Sava's suggestion. He is known to be arrogant and chauvinistic, and though he affords goldriders proper courtesy as befits their rank, he is dismissive of women in general, leaving the female greenriders of his Weyr bitterly against him, not that the knowledge worries him in the least. With less patience for politics, he tends to leave such duties to his Weyrwoman when he can help it, his main focus being on fighting Thread, where he at least proves more than competent.Goldriders: 5
Tolaza of Gold Pazarath
High Reaches Weyr
Weyr Colors: Blue/Black
Weyrwoman: Isalda of Gold Ferrith
Age: 35 Turns
Childhood friends with her Weyrleader, the two were candidates and then weyrlings together, and soon enough weyrmates. When E'vamel sustained a head injury that gave him terrible short term memory, Isalda promised to be his memory for him, forever if need be. Sure it has something to do with her deep bond with the man, Ferrith has never been flown by any bronze but Golmeth, which was fine until Isalda took over as Weyrwoman and the concerns over his Weyrleadership began. Isalda does her best to support her weyrmate through his worries and insecurities and is thankful that High Reaches has so many goldriders to help with her duties so she has all the more time to spend with him. She generally deals with political matters on behalf of the Weyr to keep E'vamel out of the public eye, at his request.Weyrleader: E’vamel of Bronze Golmeth
Age: 37 Turns
After a head injury sustained through an accident in weyrling training, E'vamel's short term memory has never been the same. Fortunately Isalda has been there for him through it all and the two have a deep and loving relationship. The two, together with his best friend and Weyrsecond, manage to keep the Weyr running with little incident despite his limitations. Still, he is quite insecure about it, as whispers often get back to him about worries that his disability will somehow lead to disaster in Threadfall, despite the fact that his Weyrsecond works closely with him precisely to ensure the opposite. He is good at putting on a confident front, but requires his weyrmate's comfort far more often than he cares to admit. He does his best to avoid politics, leaving such matters to his Weyrsecond or Weyrwoman, trying to keep his disability hidden from those outside the Weyr who would likely be even less accepting of him as Weyrleader than those within it.Goldriders: 6
Ierne Island Weyr
Weyr Colors: Maroon/Black
Weyrwoman: Arecie of Gold Swasith
Age: 32 Turns
Upon meeting Arecie, most wonder how she ever managed to Impress a gold at all. Shy and socially awkward, the woman excels only at the parts of her job which do not require much interaction with other people. She is a fantastic archivist, organized and efficient, but she lacks social graces and tends to come off either boring or eccentric. She tends to push off such duties onto her Juniors and does her best to remain out of the public eye, as she's quite aware of her shortcomings. When it comes to her Weyrleader, she takes a passive role, quite content to let the man holding the position do as he pleases.Weyrleader: D'min of Brown Solith
Age: 31 Turns
D'min's rise to Weyrleadership brought with it incredible change to Ierne Island Weyr. D'min had been petitioning the weyrleaders to prepare when the signs of the Pass began, but he went ignored. He did manage to convince a great majority of blue and green riders to ready themselves, however, and is credited as the reason Ierne's protectorate did not suffer quite as devastating losses as Tidewalk's. In what many call proof of the 'will of the Weyr', the determined D'min's brown caught Arecie's gold on her next rise, and he has done well to organize the Wings properly since. He is, however, entirely focused on Threadfighting, and is completely lost in political situations. As such, he has done nothing to attempt to mend relations with the Holds, and since only the Weyr knows of his attempts at the onset of the Pass, his reputation carries no weight with them. Incredibly progressive, and perhaps also a bit petty, D'min has taken to granting leadership positions to riders of browns and even blues over bronzes, which is causing quite a lot of bitterness to develop.Goldriders: 6
Southern Weyr
Weyr Colors: Bright Green/Black
Weyrwoman: Sorekka of Gold Dublith
Age: 25 Turns
Sorekka is the granddaughter of the former Weyrwoman, Bekka. She was incredibly close with her grandmother, and still is now that the woman has retired. As she is the only person the senile old woman would listen to after her weyrmate's death, Sorekka spent much of her time at Bekka's side and has basically been acting Weyrwoman since her grandfather's death shortly after the start of the Pass. She is also the one that finally convinced her grandmother to retire, and for her efforts the past several turns, despite being the youngest of them, the other goldriders of Southern worked it out so Bekka's official retirement coincided with Dublith's next rise, effectively giving the young woman her grandmother's position. Devoted to her family and her Weyr, she is a very involved Weyrwoman and is determined not to allow her Weyr to make any further tragic mistakes.Weyrleader: A’din of Bronze Zervath
Age: 46 Turns
A'din is one of several bronzerider transfers sent from the Northern Weyrs in attempt to help remedy the mess the Southern Weyrs had gotten themselves into. Originally from Fort, he was installed a turn after the onset of the Pass and has done well to properly organize the Wings. He has been gaining popularity both inside and outside of the Weyr. He has made sure to make plenty of appearances in the Holds, in lieu of the previous Weyrwoman, who had refused to leave the Weyr at all since her weyrmate's death. He is overall a decent man, if a bit impatient and quick tempered. He generally left dealing with the Weyrwoman to the other goldriders, quite aware that he hasn't the patience for her. However, now that a new Weyrwoman has been installed, his bronze keeping him in his position, he is quite looking forward to being able to work with a proper Weyrwoman.Goldriders: 5
Bekka of Gold Lorath (Retired Weyrwoman)
Vesper Weyr
Weyr Colors: Gray/Black
Weyrwoman: Emis of Gold Junith
Age: 38 Turns
Emis is nothing like any Weyrwoman anyone on Pern would ever imagine. A miner before Impression, she is no lady, and is known to curse, tell bawdy jokes with her riders, and take both male and female lovers on a regular basis. She is crude and undisciplined, and though she does decently well in most of her duties, is quite the political disaster, and knows it. She therefore eagerly allows her Juniors and Weyrleader to attend to such matters in her stead, for she hasn't the patience or the self control for such things. Quite progressive, she tends to be at odds with her Weyrleader, but is in general well liked by her Weyr. Gold Junith, unlike her rider, is the monogamous sort and has taken no mate but bronze Fenteth ever since her first rising.Weyrleader: N’vial of Bronze Fenteth
Age: 40 Turns
Quite the opposite of his counterpart, N'vial is quite conservative and traditional. He does his best to conceal his Weyrwoman's indiscretions from those outside the Weyr and works with the Holds in her stead quite often. N'vial has taken a very strict and disciplined approach to leadership, and with the boisterous and brutish riders of Vesper, his firm hand has actually brought him more respect than disdain amongst his riders. However, it is no secret which of their weyrleaders the riders of Vesper favor.Goldriders: 4
Monaco Bay Weyr
Weyr Colors: Dark Green/Black
Weyrwoman: Celara of Gold Yunnath
Age: 29 Turns
Celara came unexpectedly into her position just before the onset of the Pass, when the previous Weyrwoman died in childbirth. At that point, she was the youngest goldrider at Monaco and was quite overwhelmed by her new role and responsibilities. This left her particularly easy for her more experienced Weyrleader to influence. She trusted that the man knew what he was doing far more than she, and though she had reservations about the lack of preparation for the Pass, her Weyrleader's assurances were enough to placate her. She was thus horrified by how terribly the Weyr was caught off guard by Thread's early return, and her relationship with her Weyrleader soured quickly. When Yunnath next rose, the gold was caught by another, and Celara vowed never to be so complacent again. She has done her best to remain involved with her current Weyrleader, but the man's personality makes it difficult, despite her best efforts.Weyrleader: I’der of Bronze Hurith
Age: 39 Turns
Originally from High Reaches, I'der is another of the Northern Weyr's transfers in attempt to mitigate the failures of the Southern Weyrs. He is a rather reserved man and comes off cold and uncaring, but there is no denying that the man has a mind for strategy when it comes to fighting Thread. Solitary and preferring the company of books to people, Monaco's riders are in general apathetic to their Weyrleader, who has made it very hard to get to know him.Goldriders: 5
Tidewalk Weyr
Weyr Colors: Sea Blue/Black
Weyrwoman: Kalena of Gold Vicanth
Age: 35 Turns
A daughter of Mirran, Kalena originally Impressed at the Weyrhold and was transferred after her young gold's first clutch. In what some mutter as being uncanny timing, the elderly senior Weyrwoman died peacefully in her sleep shortly before Vicanth next rose, installing the young woman as Weyrwoman. Kalena is spoiled, lazy, and often petulant, though since T'mal's rise to weyrleadership she has been far more subdued in recent turns. Her power has been all but stripped from her and she serves only as a figurehead at this point, with Tidewalk's junior weyrwomen taking over the majority of her duties.Weyrleader: T’mal of Bronze Ulinoth
Age: 44 Turns
After the disaster the Weyrwoman and his younger predecessor caused, T'mal has done about as well as can be expected in his attempts to mitigate it and restore the Weyr in the eyes of the Holds. His first act as Weyrleader was to call together his wingleaders and goldriders to effectively strip Kalena of any real authority. There was little dissent over the matter as most of the Weyr viewed her as a usurper as it was. He has since done very well as Weyrleader, but it is too little, too late in the eyes of many holdfolk. Accepting Mirranese help in Falls, though necessary after the Wings were so decimated after the first Falls, has done little to improve the reputation of Tidewalk and T'mal, and more to raise the reputation of Mirran.Goldriders: 4
Mirran Weyrhold
Weyr Colors: Ice Blue/Black
Weyrwoman: Isorel of Gold Winnecath
Age: 52 Turns
Isorel is an ambitious woman, but does not pursue her ambitions with quite as much ruthlessness as her counterpart. She is completely in love with O'zel, however, and is more than willing to go along with whatever plans the man comes up with, backing him completely so long as the results he promises improve the Weyrhold in the end, even if the process is less than moral. The ends justify the means to Isorel. She has a regal air about her, and beside O'zel, the two appear to be the perfect weyrleader pair.Weyrleader: O’zel of Bronze Relianth
Age: 55 Turns
O'zel is a showman, a manipulator. He is charismatic, charming even, at least in the public eye. He is everything a Weyrleader should be, or so it seems. In private the man is hardly the shining example his people see him as, however. O'zel and Isorel are weyrmated, and their dragons are just as attached to each other as their riders are. He is very convincingly in love with her, but really the woman is just another pawn in the game he plays. He is loyal to her only as a means to an end. His ambition cannot be sated, and he is very willing to do whatever it takes to get what he wants.Goldriders: 8
