Tak'ril - Agureyth
I think you look great.
He looked at himself in the looking glass, giving the dragon a doubting glance through it after a once over.
You think? I mean the shirt is perfect, but me..?
Yes, you look perfect mine.
He gave himself another dubious glance, fiddling with sleeves. The shirt was nicer than any shirt he had ever owned, and he felt silly in it. Maybe because it was so nice. He hadn’t ever needed nice or new clothes serving aboard a fishing ship and had ended up getting hand-me-down clothes from his father and uncles his whole life. This shirt smelled and felt new. It was perfect for him, creamy colored, long sleeves, with a V-neck and long ties to tie it shut. Which he began doing.
What are you doing? Leave it be.
Why, isn’t that the purpose of the ties?
I don’t think Joia actually meant for you to use them, mine.
Tak’ril blinked and untied them slowly. It showed off his chest hair, and a little muscle, which then made him blush.
“Are you sure-“
Yes yes I am sure. Now you should get going. You are wasting my precious daylight. I can’t sit and enjoy the sun until you leave.
Tak’ril gave his dragon a half smile, grateful for the dragon’s support. He still felt strange leaving his bronze dragon.
“Okay, okay, I’m leaving.”
He waved goodbye and backed out of the weyr, then turned on his heel to head toward V’than’s weyr. He found the brown weyrling and they were off, to enjoy the festivities. His anticipation was mainly for Joia, he was excited to be able to show off the shirt she had made for him and see her bright smile again. He had a pit in his stomach just thinking about it. When they arrived, Tak’ril looked for their group, mainly studying the area for the bright white dragon, thinking it would be the easiest way to spot her.
Back at the weyr, Agureyth circled a few times in the sunny spot he had found and laid down. The warm rock underneath him and the sun beating down on him from above was soothing. He was feeling some anxiety separation, but he tried to relax into the sun, and let it overtake him. It was just for a little while.
