Siorreya - Green Amagetith
She blew the wisps of hair out of her eyes, annoyed by the tickling of her nose caused by the thin strands. She desperately wanted to itch her nose, but her hands were sticky with the oil she was painstakingly stirring.
I can’t believe you talked me into this. By Faranth, this is taking forever.
But this is going to be so good mine. I can’t wait to see Codrath’s face! Here let me mix, you add. The dragon took her tail and daintily dipped one side of it in the bucket, making stirring motion. That worked just fine for Sio. She took the powder that Ny’x had so kindly offered, pouring it slowly into the oil. If stirred in slowly enough, Ny’x had informed them that the oil wouldn’t show the sparkles and would cause the bronze to sparkle in the sunlight. It was a better plan than the lavender, as the dragon and his human would be able to smell it before they put it on him. It was also a plus that the sparkles didn’t wash of easily. But Ny’x had cautioned that if they didn’t stir it in slowly enough the sparkles would be too condensed and would be visible in the dim weyr light to the human and dragon eye. A loud clang came from the cavern outside the weyr they had snuck into and caused Siorreya to hold her breath.
Did you hear something?
Her green paused in her stirring, listening intently. I think it was just a tunnel cat. Hurry, I don’t want to be caught, it would spoil Codrath’s surprise.
The young greenrider gave a nervous giggle and scooped another spoonful into the oil.
You know, my tail end is going to sparkle like your glass figures of the dragons. Codrath is really going to sparkle like one of your glass figures.
Too bad he won’t appreciate it that much.
Well he may surprise us. I can still imagine him prancing about, oh so pretty. We still have to string all those flowers together.
Yeah, I’ve decided that we aren’t going to do that.
What!? Why? It will finish his look!
Yeah, well it would take me forever to string all those flowers together, and it’s not like you can help. Codrath is huge, it would have to be one large necklace.
Oh, come on! Please mine? Please?
No. Plus, I just imagine Codrath killing us as we present it. I’m really refusing to do this for you. Just trying to keep you alive.
Well, I never thought I would want to die. Her dragon mournfully pouted, and Sio rolled her eyes.
You will thank me later!
I don’t think so.
Oh get over it, and keep stirring. Sio put in the last of the powder, and peered into the bucket as the green stirred the last of it in.
Well? How does it look?
Like normal oil.
Oh good, this may just work.
“You didn’t think this would work?” Sio hissed quietly, surprised.
Well, I wasn’t sure! But I hoped it would. Another clang came from outside, causing Siorreya to jump.
“Come on, time to go.” The blonde stood and brushed her hands off carefully, grabbed her sack, and headed for the door. The green rambled along with her rider, eyes green and whirling fast, amusement plain.
Let’s find a good place for when they come out into the sun. I don’t want to miss that sparkle.
