APPEARANCE: Being neither fat nor too thin, Brenna is built very much like a woman of her age. She doesn't realize she is anything more than 'a little pretty', with her long dark hard and stormy gray eyes. She doesn't flaunt it, mind you - she is more for comfy clothing, as much for the feel as for the fact she loves the look. She'll be a head-turner, no doubt about that - she might not realize it, but her brother does. And he IS ready to put any boy in place that might think to break his little sister's heart. Benna has the same icy, gray-blue like most of her family; a stunning effect of the bloodline, don't you think? Hers are a touch darker than her brother's, an almost stormy look to them. Her hair is pretty naturally standard, starting a deep brown at the roots, then lightening to a rich, softer almost Klah color at the tips, which brush about the middle of her back. She doesn’t have any scars as of yet, but she does get a good dose of freckles in the brighter, summer months.

PERSONALITY FAULTS:
IMPATIENT; Waiting, not on her list of things to do. She wants to help, needs to help, and will get things done even if it means sleeping and eating are delayed. Why put it off? Just get it done and out of the way so you have time for other things!!
NOSY; this she gets from her mother; she can't leave well enough alone. She feels a need to know why people are mad, sad, and what she can to do to fix it. She can't fix it? Pfft! You just haven't let her try!
OUTSPOKEN; Open mouth, insert foot. Her mouth is notoriously quicker than her brain, leading to some awkward situations in the past, and surely in the future.

PERSONALITY STRENGTHS:
FRIENDLY; As long as you haven't done something to upset her, Brenna is a great friend to have. She loves making new friends because people fascinate her on a level she doesn't quite understand yet.
SMART; Sharp minded, she's very good at solving problems and catching onto concepts. She remembers almost everything. It just depends if she picks to use it. Being Smart and having Common Sense aren't always the same thing after all.
UPBEAT; she is a happy person, and she wants the people around her happy. If you aren't happy? She'll make it a task to try to make you so... even if you don't want to be happy. That just makes it more of a challenge!

QUIRKS AND HABITS:
PROTECTIVE; hurt her friends, she'll hurt you. No, she doesn't care if its against the rules, she's not going to just let you do that!
CURIOUS; like a flit, she wants to know what everything is for, what people are doing, and why. This leads to a lot of questions very quickly that people don't always want to answer.
DAYDREAMY; Romantic, naive with a creative mind, she'd make a better harper then a healer! Well, if she doesn't get a dragon, she can always dream one up!

HISTORY:
Up until recently, Brenna's life has been pretty uneventful. Born into a mob of children in Keroon Hold, she's always been in the care of one of her siblings; before he was searched, that was normally her brother Garrett. In big families, the kids always seem to pair off into bonds - that was how it was with Brenna and her brother, in spite of the 3 turn or so age gap. Garrett had never minded the girl underfoot, and often simply put her to work helping with his duties if she got to be too much to deal with. Willing to help and wanting his approval, she was quick to pick up on what she needed to do and often remembered instructions with very little prompting.

Her world got flipped upside down when the Dragonrider came and took her brother away. The Blue had been beautiful but bigger than anything Brenna had ever seen; she'd hidden behind Garrett's body, stealing peeks at the stranger and her winged companion, safe in the fact that Garrett wouldn't let them hurt her - he'd never let anyone hurt her. But the rider did hurt her... she took Garrett away from her. She cried, begged him not to go. What would she do without him?! Yes, she had other family, but they weren't HIM. She's sobbed as he collected his things, following him like a little puppy as he sorted the last things he needed before he was whisked away from her for, in her mind, seemed like forever. Twelve turns old, everything is dramatic and forever. He promised he would come back, giving her a necklace to seal the promise. He had smiled, hugged her, kissed her forehead and made her say she loved him - then he was gone, in a blink.

Brenna cried for days after, refusing to talk to anyone. She claimed Garrett's room and everything that remained in it and refused to be told otherwise. She curled up in the bed, under the covers, and weep until her eyes burned and she couldn't talk. She slept for days still after... it took weeks and threats from her father before she could finally be forced to leave the room. She sulked and grumbled, but slowly began to return to being a real person instead of a little ball of sobs. She took up spending her spare time with Healers that had taught Garrett, feeling that they understood her lost more than her family did. She wasn't really an apprentice so much as... a runner, a helper of errands and fetcher of meals and klah.

Then, the letters started; delivered by little firelizards and visitors to the Hold. Letters she cherished, Garrett's words on parchment, telling her of all the wild things happening to him in the far off world of Dragons and Whers. As he moved on, so did she - taking a tentative apprenticeship to her mother and attempting to make pots that were not lopsided and looked like rotting melons. She celebrated when work of him Impression came - it wasn't until much later she realized why her father had crowed so loudly when they had found out it was a Bronze her loveable brother rode. The new name took some getting used to... G'rett just didn't sound the same to her.

She grew up, from child to young woman. She still loved the letters she got from her brother, but she no longer lived for them anymore. The necklace he had given her, his promise with its shiny stone, still held the place around her throat, but it wasn't an only hope she clung to. She faced the fact that while he was off playing with dragons, she had to figure out what she was doing with her life. She decided to shift her attention to herbs and healing, with her mother's blessing. She courted and flirted with several boys, none of it serious, and settling into the thought that she would eventually marry one of these boys, have babies, and grow old.

Then, on Bronze wings, her brother flew back into her life. He was older and fuzzier! With a beautiful Gold Firelizard that Brenna wanted nothing more than to love on, and so many good stories! He spoke of Marvos in general, the Weyr he now called home; of flying against Thread, and the babies his dragon had sired. And of traveling time, something Brenna didn’t even think possible outside old harper tales! Suddenly, it was all she wanted – a chance to have those tales of her own. She sat with her Bronzer brother, the second night he’d visited them, and asked all the questions his letters had stirred in her younger self.

And finally, he asked. Did she want to try? YES, YES, all the YES! Her mother hadn’t liked it, but her father’s word was more than enough to let her take her chance at wings of her own. She spent the next few days with her family, drinking in the bonds and friendship. Then, when G’rett headed back to Mavros, Brenna went with him, on the back of the massive Mastromideth to take her chances on the Sands with fate.
