News While Mavros awaits the next gold to rise and take Karredy's place as Senior after her abdication, the Lord of Jask Hold celebrates his wedding with a grand gather and the Weyr attends for some much needed fun and relaxation, as well as to perform in dragon races as part of the wedding celebration.
The Moonflower's trip to Mavros from the Northern Continent had been thankfully uneventful, but it was a nice change for Nehauka to finally see the cliffs of Mavros that travelers had been talking about--at least, before everyone mysteriously stopped going there. It didn't help that the children got seasick around the last sevenday and were determined to stay that way, thanks to a stretch of cold weather and fog.
For a Weyrhold so shrouded in calamities (but probably exaggerated), the island sure was a pretty one. Even here they could see Mount Chariath's bulk above the far end of the cliffs, dark and mist-cloaked.
Why on earth wouldn't a dragonrider just fly us over? The sailor wondered yet again. It's not like they'd be staying here...
But then Greyston tottered up, followed with amusement by his uncle Hauniki.
"He finally got his sea-legs," Hauniki announced, his grin flashing bright against his dark skin. "We'll make a captain of him yet."
"Look, lovey, there's the harbor cave!" Nehauka told Greyston as they passed by the islet. "We'll be seeing your aunties soon."
With the last of the fog hanging around, it was a little far for Hauniki to see if anyone was out; he and the crew tweaked course so they'd curve along the shore instead of heading straight to the harbor cave.
