NAME: Alduntulath (ahl-dun-too-lath)

COLOR: Brown - Abundistic
RIDER: No’va
RANK: Weyrling
SPEAKING COLOR: 612e0d
ABILITIES:
AGILITY: 2
SPEED: 4
ENDURANCE: 8
APPEARANCE: If not for his lack of sheen, Alduntulath could have been a bronze. He is obviously an exception to his dam’s size, and will be much larger than his siblings when he finishes growing, easily reaching 65 feet in length. Brutish in looks, he's barrel chested to the point that he is heavy-set in the front but balanced and supported by stocky, muscled forelimbs, and powerful strong haunches. His wings are as wide and broad as he is but suited for a beast his size, and his tail is shorter and thicker than it ought to be, but not to the point of imbalance. In essence, he is a winged armored tank, a brown of formidable strength and stamina and just about unstoppable. He can easily last an entire fall, though he will need the aid of betweening more than other browns will to avoid getting scored. He is an amazing thing to see in the air, his bulk strangely acrobatic despite his difficulty with tight turns, and will prove to be a capable chaser so long as the green (or even gold) lady doesn’t leave him too far behind. In color he is a surprise - his redwood brown hide has seemingly been dipped in ink from tail to flank, and then painted up his forearms to his shoulders. Wavy bands of black dance across the red-brown bow of his belly and stripe across his throat and over his cheeks, then pool at the top of his head, drenching his headknobs and nose.
PERSONALITY: Fearless, Dependable, Focused, Roguish
Roguish and fearless, if there’s one thing that will be obvious about Alduntulath from the moment of Impression, it is that he loves a good thrill. There may be many, many, infirmary visits in the future… for both of you, whether from training or drills or just something the two of you have managed to do. As you both learn and grow through weyrlinghood, drills, and eventually your first trek into threadfall, Alduntulath will come to realize a sense of self-preservation (read: preservation of you) and caution, especially after your first threadscores. Should they be the result of his thrill-seeking tendencies, he will beat himself up for the length of his memory, and it will take some work to get him to not take it so hard. It is through this tendency that he will prove to be a positively stellar threadfighter though; continuously running over his actions in his head so many times will help him remember to avoid such things even past his usual memory span.
Whereas most of his clutch siblings will be the curious sort, it’s not so much the same with Alduntulath – certainly he is curious, but it’s more out of a sort of restlessness than a true curiosity. He’s not a dragon that does ‘idly sitting by’ very well. There’s always something to do, and resting on his laurels isn’t one of them – in this way, he is a highly dependable dragon, always willing to jump to the forefront and assist anyone who should ask. He’ll quickly take to practical lessons and drills, but lectures are will be his bane. It will be sweet relief if he’s asleep for such things, lest he very well complain your ear off about how positively bored he is. Alduntulath is a hands on learner, there is no doubt – but even though he complains incessantly about sitting on his rump listening to someone talk for several hours, the brown still manages to take away more information from such things than one might expect. Incredibly observant, his recollection and attention skills will leave others in awe. He can be holding a full conversation in the air and still see a single bird his conversation partner totally missed and warn them about it before they take the poor thing out of the air. Alduntulath doesn’t have many soft spots, but small animals are one of them.
Focused and accountable, Alduntulath doesn’t tolerate nonsense from anyone; not his clutch siblings, not from dragons twice his age and experience, not those of rank and certainly not from you. For all his apparent love for thrills and danger, there is often a method to his madness - he doesn’t go into it for the hell of it, he fights for what he believes in, even if it’s against everyone else’s opinion. He’s not shy about personal space either - he will get right in your face (or others) to get his point across… or knock you over with a flick of his tail, or a nudge of a paw. To be clear, he has no desire to hurt you, his beloved rider, but sometimes when he cannot come up with the words he needs, or he needs your attention immediately, he’ll resort to some sort of physical gesture. He will always emphasize quality over quantity, and if there’s ever Wingsecond or Wingleader (or even Weyrsecond) in your future he will enjoy putting others through various rites and rituals who fall under his command; he must ensure they are skilled enough, trustworthy enough, and group-oriented enough to remain in your wing, after all. If they are any less than so, they run the risk of killing themselves or others – for all his hard outer shell, Alduntulath does care, and care deeply, about keeping everyone safe, especially you, his bonded, his other half, his partner in crime. He will always be there, whether you’re off to sate your latest thrill craving by diving off a cliff into the sea or rising into Threadfall, this brown will never let you forget you are more than your blood – you are his rider, and he loves you more than anything else in the world.
