NAME: Ramacuth (rah-mah-cooth)
AGE: Hatchling
COLOR: Bronze
RIDER: S’goi
RANK: Weyrling
SPEAKING COLOR: #49402b
ABILITIES:
AGILITY: 3
SPEED: 5
ENDURANCE: 7
APPEARANCE: Ramacuth can be called little else than a well-formed bronze. The dark beast sits comfortably in the middle of the agile and enduring descriptors, built upon strong, chiseled muscle and lean lines, but lacking the bulk denoting true stamina and the flexible shapes of natural dexterity. His wings are wide, granting him decent agility, and fairly long, adding to his endurance, and he will comfortably last a full Fall through an average dragon’s combination of personal agility and betweening. That said, he will have difficulty reaching to either end of the spectrum, and this will be most apparent when he chases; greens and small golds will likely outmaneuver him while large golds will outlast him. He will need to think smart when in the air for both Fall and chases to make up for his physical shortcomings. His hide is dark, and calls to mind the dark sky before a storm, littered with rolling thunderclouds. His mindvoice is deep and otherworldly, as if he speaks from a realm removed from the one you both inhabit, and hard to describe to others who might ask.
Personality: Dutiful, Practical, Intelligent, Old Soul
Neither vain nor materialistic, Ramacuth is akin to a wizened old soul, gentler than most and blessed with an uncanny wit and wisdom beyond his turns. From the moment he hatches, Ramacuth’s alien intelligence and deeply ingrained moral compass will challenge others to be more and do more, to question their motivations and reach for dreams they have long since lost. Regardless of it all, he will reason, if you do not believe you can, how can you make it be? Indeed, Ramacuth will prove to be a philosophical creature; the dragon is a deep, deep thinker, and his rider may quickly find himself out of his depth with the bronze’s questions. How did weyrs and holds come to be the way they are? What is the origin of dragons? Did chickens or eggs come first? What is the meaning of life? And these questions will only get deeper and more thoughtful as he ages and learns more of the world.
Like most old souls, Ramacuth also appreciates the practical things in life - certainly, praise and parties are nice, but the hotsprings and a clean couch are worth a hundred gathers to this bronze. This practicality extends into other parts of his persona as well - A healthy body promotes a healthy mind, he may come to say, and Ramacuth will soon begin to encourage his rider to join him on jogging trips around the bowl. Should he injure himself, Ramacuth is unlikely to complain, no matter how dire or unpleasant, and he often makes use of the resulting down time to focus on other things, like learning new flight patterns or getting to know a new wingmate’s tendencies. These are only temporary hardships, after all - might as well make good use of the time. However, should his downtime be the result of his rider getting himself into trouble, his time will instead be spent centered upon his bonded. Ramacuth’s disappointment will be known, but there will be no overbearing lectures, no 'I told you so's - there will never be any anger directed toward you, his beloved rider. He is your other half; your failings are his failings. And that feeling of disappointment, that you let him down, may be more eloquent than a thousand scoldings or lectures - because in the end, were you to ever disappoint him, it would devastate him to the core. Such is the strength of your bond.
Ramacuth is a bronze that will strive to embody the ballads of noble dragonmen, and so he will regard duty, honor, justice and mercy very highly; so much so that they will form the everburning flame that drives him to live as dragons should and for the purpose they were intended. You are his rider, and he will support you in all things, but more than anything he will encourage you to think outside of the proverbial box, to explore, learn, and grow - and find your all-important purpose in whatever wing or job it may be. He is a Protector of Pern, and you are his bonded - your stories may eventually ring upon the tongues of harpers and be written upon the pages of tomes bound in hide like those he admires. What will they say?
