Looks to Vavithan
NAME: Saruth (sah-rooth)
AGE: Hatchling
COLOR: Brown
RIDER: V’than
RANK: Weyrling
SPEAKING COLOR: 755a4d
APPEARANCE: Befitting for the offspring of Mavros's largest gold and one of the largest bronzes, Saruth is quite massive. At full growth he will break past his color's normal size range, reaching 67 feet. With large, wide wings and thick muscle, this brown will have no trouble competing with bronzes, should he choose to do so. His hide is a muted shade of brown, of middling shade, with a pale, sandy underbelly, beginning at his muzzle, covering it completely, and ending half way down his tail. His paws are also this sandy color.
ABILITIES
AGILITY: 2
SPEED: 3
ENDURANCE: 9
PERSONALITY: Mellow, Protective, Simple, Reserved
Saruth is an incredibly mellow and tolerant dragon. Not much moves him to any sort of emotional extreme. That isn’t to say he’s cold or stoic, for he cares deeply for those close to him and his rider and can actually be quite warm and affectionate, but he certainly isn’t what one would call a passionate dragon. Laid-back and easygoing, this brown goes with the flow, completely unbothered by insults or negativity around him. Though, to be fair, that might be partially due to his… simpler mindset. Saruth is not the most intelligent of dragons. Sarcasm and metaphors will be taken at face value, which is quite likely to end up confusing him at times. He does not have any ability to read subtle, between the lines messages and may very well miss things in conversation if they aren’t stated outright. He wants for very little; a good meal, a nice sunning spot, and his rider’s happiness are all that really matter to him.
A quiet dragon, Saruth is most content in companionable silence, but is just as willing to lend an ear to anyone who has something on their mind, so long as they don’t expect much in the way of a response. He is a comforting presence and doesn’t at all mind being a giant teddy bear to anyone that needs it, but if you’re looking for advice you’d do better to look elsewhere. Saruth doesn’t speak much and when he does it tends to be in simple phrases, conveying a point or a need in no uncertain terms. He generally finds little use for words otherwise, so he unfortunately will never be a great conversational partner. It is unlikely he will ever speak to a human besides his rider but in dire circumstances, but he may very well say a few words to humans that mean a great deal to his rider, now and then.
The one thing that will shift Saruth’s mood in a heartbeat is any perceived threat to his rider or anyone the brown cares about. He has the potential even to be unreasonable, if he perceives a threat incorrectly, becoming an angry, snarling beast until either the threat has passed or his rider has managed, with great difficulty, to talk him down. A normally gentle giant, those that know him best may have a hard time believing him to be the same dragon in this state. He takes protecting those he loves incredibly seriously.
When it comes to chasing, Saruth is really too large to have much luck catching any greens, so it’s fortunate he won’t ever show too much interest in such things. He’ll likely only chase if his rider prompts him to do so, if the rising dragon is bonded to someone his rider has feelings for, or if he himself has an attachment to the female, whether green or gold.
