One Sevenday After Turnover
One Sevenday After Turnover
S'fin :: Green Rusath
Ever since the races, S'fin had been keeping a closer eye on Rusath. The generally calm and even tempered green was growing more and more irritable, especially around other females, and since the race seemed to take just about everything as a challenge. She'd never been quite this bad before. Sometimes he even found her new behavior affecting him, and here he'd thought he'd long since gotten such effect well under control. He at least was able to keep from acting on the feelings, even if they were making being social rather difficult. He'd complained to Rau about it, because surely he would understand, and he did, and took his moods in good humor.
It was but a sevenday after Turnover when the ordeal finally came to its inevitable conclusion. With a nagging restlessness, S'fin had woken, had his breakfast, and returned to his shared weyr with Rau to work on mending his riding straps. Focusing on the task was a chore, and he kept glancing expectantly at Rusath where she lay dozing on the ledge, catching what little warmth there was from the winter sun. She twitched in her sleep, which she never did but for when she was near to rise. Silently, he urged her to get on with it already so things could return to normal. The Flight itself, and the results of it, S'fin had no issue with, but it was those days leading up to it that were frustrating in a myriad of ways. He did worry for her recent Threadscore injury and how a Flight might affect it, but it had looked worse than it was and was healing decently since they'd been excused from drills for it.
It was nearing lunch time when the green finally woke, her eyes red, and without a word to her rider launched herself from the ledge, immediately calling out to all the males of the Weyr, Come! Chase, if you think you can catch me!
S'fin had just set aside his mending, satisfied, though it had taken longer than it should have due to his distraction. Rusath's need hit him full force and he steadied himself against the table where he stood, becoming more dragon and less rider as the green's desire flared. About time, he told her, and was promptly ignored as several blues gave chase. Through Rusath he recognized the different shades of their hides: Oxyoth, Sabanth, and Nesporth. The young brown Litniroth soon joined them as well.
Taking on an uncharacteristic teasing manner that only rising ever brought out in her, Rusath folded her wings and shot down through the males that had already taken after her, surprising them all, though Sabanth managed to recover quicker and attempted an early catch. Rusath evaded him easily enough, his claws merely brushing harmlessly over her hide, as the rest of them were left scrambling to catch up, laughing back at him, Nice try! But you'll have to do better~
OOC: This is an open Flight so there's no predetermined winner. Anyone that wants to throw someone in to chase is welcome, I may or may not rando the winner~
*Thought it prudent to make sure everyone knew S'fin is in his weyr and that there is caverns access so people can get there on foot >.>
