APPEARANCE: Isali’s fairly average- in height, weight, hair and eye color; only her skin, brown due to her lineage, is out of the ordinary. It’s not tanned, but naturally darker, a result of her mother’s darker skin and her father’s white.
Her hair is long and soil-brown in color. She’s worn it loose for most of her life, only recently having trouble with keeping it out of the way as she goes about her chores- she may well cut it off at some point, but for now she settles for braiding it halfway to make it more manageable. Her eyes are also brown, resting in a slightly round face with pronounced cheekbones. A scar runs along her left cheek, still pink and relatively new- courtesy of Zyrath’s cruel habit of trying to trip her if she catches her rider distracted.
Isali prefers darker colors- blacks, browns, dark blues and greens- for everyday wear. For more special occasions, she has a dress of a brighter green, closely matching Zyrath’s color, with a hint of shading on the sleeves.
Her stride generally shifted between two: a longer, going-places stride that may often break off into a slower amble as something catches her eye and interest. Or a run, if she’s exceptionally late (as is often the case) and must be somewhere quickly.
PERSONALITY FAULTS
Lack of Punctuality: Isali has trouble being on time. For anything. She doesn't really mean to, it's just that she gets caught up in something, or distracted by any number of things, and before she knows it the chore or lesson she was meant to be doing or attending started twenty minutes ago and she's late again. It's not intentional, but the end result is still the same, and she may well end up in trouble for consistently being tardy.
Flippant: Isali can be a bit lax about respect- she will certainly give it where it’s due, but she may not hold the ranking riders in high regard as some do- she does not walk on eggshells around them or treat them with reverence. They’re riders, just as she will be one day, even if they will outrank her, and she doesn’t see the need to treat them as though they’re special.
Temperamental: Rather easily angered, and quick to react with a flash of heated words, Isali may react poorly to a slight- real or imagined. She doesn’t take well to people talking down about her or Zyrath, or any of her family, and it’s a very safe bet that neither she or Zyrath will ever be Searchers. The surges of anger may last, or may be soothed away quickly- it depends on the reason she took offense in the first place.
PERSONALITY STRENGTHS
Confident: This, Isali has in spades. She may not always know what’s going on, or how to react when something bad happens, but she’s rarely at a loss for long. If there is nobody older or higher in rank to take control, then she’ll do her best to take charge and handle the situation as she sees fit. She knows herself and her mind, and won't be swayed to change it unless the facts stack up against the wisdom of a choice she's made.
Candid: She'll tell it how it is, getting straight to the heart of a matter with no sidetracking or beating around the bush. There's no point to flowery words, and she rarely tries to sugercoat anything, though she will try to offer comfort as best she can.
Decisive: Make a choice and act on it: some could call her stubborn, but Isali won't blindly cling to an idea if there's a change it can harm someone or cause dissent.

HISTORY: Born at Cove Hold, Isali is the oldest child of Mirese's six, fathered by bluerider S'lan but raised by Mirese. She hardly knew her father except in passing; as a Searchrider, he would from time to time visit to take eligible children back to the Weyr he was beholden to. He never sought her out, and she couldn't quite bring herself to care about someone she didn't know. Instead she focused on the younger siblings that followed, taking care of them as best she could as Mirese went about her duties.
In time, she became old enough to pull her weight, and for the next fifteen Turns, she did her part in caring for the Hold. She never minded it, happy enough to know that she was part of a vast team that kept the Hold running smoothly, and as she knew no other way, she had nothing else to envision.
The Search was completely unexpected. Not her father, but another blue, who looked her in the eye and passed on words of her Impressionable qualities to his rider. When offered the chance, Isali stumbled for a moment, completely caught off guard at the possibility. Mirese gave her blessing, however, and before Rukbat set, the young woman was settled in at Mavros.
Her days as a Candidate were short. She was never sure why the rider had offered to take her along when she was already so close to aging out, but she wasn't fool enough to question it. And it paid off, anyway- though her Impression was probably more luck than a dragonet responding to a pull. Zyrath's hatching sent the green tumbling from the egg, her eyes already blood-red; that piercing gaze landed on Isali and the cool voice spoke into her mind, demanding the now-weyrling follow her.
The months since have been quite the experience. Zyrath is quite the strong-willed creature, and it takes all of Isali's willpower to keep her in check- and she fails as often as she succeeds. But she cares for the green, and loves her, and wouldn't change Zyrath for all of Pern.
