NAME: T'skel (formerly Taskelis)
RANK: Weyrling
AGE: 21 Turns
GENDER: Male
ORIENTATION: Bisexual
DRAGON: Blue Taloth
PETS:
APPEARANCE:
T'skel's former life as a farmer is rather evident, but for a strong man, he's not very tall. He only reaches 5'8", but what he has is compact. He has broad shoulders and impressive muscles, at least impressive for a Weyrling. There aren't any striking features on his face; in fact, his face is very youthful. His chin is pointy, his eyebrows are thick and his eyes themselves are very wide and a warm brown color. His black hair is tightly curled, and he likes to stylize it in different ways.
PERSONALITY:
Positive: Energetic, Optimistic, Friendly, Loyal
Negative: Overwhelming, Dense, Nosy, Can't Take Anything Seriously, Idealistic
T'skel has managed to get himself a reputation for seemingly being everywhere around the Weyr at once. Yep, this weyrling has energy to spare, always bouncing from here to there. He loves being in crowds, loves going around the Weyr - and further afield if he has call to. He's in his element when he's in the middle of a bustling area, slipping through the crowd, saying cheerful hellos to those he knows.
And T'skel knows a lot of people! He has a good memory for names, and a better one still for faces - so even if he's not 100% sure of someone's name, he'll recognise them and say hi anyway. He's a happy-go-lucky sort, always friendly and happy to chat to anyone. People who seem isolated or left out will especially draw T'skel's attention, and he'll make an extra effort to try and include them in a conversation, or go strike up one with them. He never seems down; never hurt when someone rebuffs his approaches or dislikes his happy attitude. He'll just leave them alone as they wish, and go find someone else to talk to - there're plenty of people out there, after all!
As a result, T'skel has lots of friends. He's at his happiest surrounded by people. Being on his own makes him edgy, and he'll always try to seek out areas where people are. Even if he's not talking to someone at the time, he feels more comfortable when lots of people are around. Perhaps it's the fact that he grew up nearly constantly surrounded by his mess of siblings, or maybe it's just his natural inclination to want friends? T'skel is loyal to those he considers friends (and that's a lot of people!), and he does take it hard when someone he's loyal to intentionally hurts him - but he's private about his sadness, preferring to keep his public face happy and smiling. After all, that's what people expect to see of him!
He's not without his faults. T'skel has somehow managed to block from his mind the fact that the life of a dragonrider is a hard one, with a high risk of an early death. He tries not to think about that, and will try to divert the conversation to another topic if it's brought up. His seemingly endless energy may be tiring for some, and his chipper attitude could grate on people. And T'skel is...dense. Well, dense to certain kinds of feelings, especially romantic ones. It's hard for him to imagine anybody wanting to be anything but friends with him, since he's good at making them. He tries to be open-minded, but sometimes his non-Weyrbred background comes to nip him in the rear. He can be unintentionally nosy, and can't help but divulge in gossip.

HISTORY:
Taskelis has a lot of family! He was born the sixth in his family, his sister Tselari coming after him two Turns later. He grew up on his father's farm, beginning to help out with the work at a young age. He had plenty of strong brothers who were all planning to follow in their father's footsteps, but it was expected that he work towards his Farmer apprenticeship too. Their farm was located some distance from Keroon, but close enough that the trek there and back could be made in a day. Taskelis, when he was old enough, would often go with his father to run errands, so he memorized the route pretty well.
Whenever he was in the Hold proper, he would constantly chat it up with the kids around there. He loved trips outside the farm, where he could meet other people. As he grew, he discovered a little secret about himself; he liked men as well as women! One time, while his father was purchasing things, Taskelis ran off to meet one of his friends that he sometimes saw. They hung out, but that hanging out soon turned into something more; that something resulted in flung clothes and an exhausted Taskelis. While his father was suspicious, he never pried too much into what his son was doing that day; though, he did assume that Taskelis had begun to fancy a girl at the hold. He began setting up marraige prospects, something he wasn't entirely excited about but accepted without question.
One day, Taskelis had been sent with his sister, Tselari, by themselves to the Hold proper with an item list. However, on the way they were stopped by a green dragon. Neither of them had seen a dragon up close before; they'd only seen them from afar, when they were on sweeps or fighting Thread. Excited, the two of them walked up to the dragon, only to have their minds probed. They were given the news that they could make great dragon riders! Without a second thought, Taskelis and Tselari boarded the green and went to Mavros, a Weyrhold their parents didn't tell them much about.
The Weyr seemed to be the perfect place for Taskelis's bouncy energy, and he didn't have to keep it a secret that he liked men, because nobody seemed to care! He made lots of friends during Candidacy, and wasn't much focused on when Hatching Day would come; he was living in the now, and wouldn't be too devastated if it didn't find a dragon. And yet, he did; his blue Taloth slithered up to him and declared him His. T'skel really wanted to Impress with his sister, but Tselari was left behind on the Sands. T'skel knew he could live with it with Taloth by his side, but the blue really needed to lighten up.
