NAME: M’nor
RANK: Wingsecond of Gale
AGE: 42
GENDER: Male
ORIENTATION: Heterosexual
DRAGON: Bronze Xnveleth
PETS: N/A
APPEARANCE:
Standing just a few inches over six feet, M’nor is not the sort of man who goes unseen in a crowd. With bright eyes, dark hair and a neatly trimmed beard, he cuts a rather impressive figure. His hair he prefers to keep longer, allowing it to curl in light waves down around his shoulders. Once it grows past that he generally cuts it off. While he is not the largest, or the broadest rider in the Weyr, M’nor prides himself on a certain level of physical form hardened and refined by years of work. Because he is something of a creature of habit, one is most likely to find M’nor dressed in his riding gear even if he doesn’t seem to be planning to take to the sky any time soon. Barring that he prefers comfortable, useful clothing that isn't likely to get in his way or cause issues in his day to day tasks.
PERSONALITY FAULTS:
Perhaps most notable amongst his personality flaws is something of a bone deep pride. He is generally the sort to counteract such pride and mitigate potential issues with cooperation, but M’nor would be hard pressed to admit that someone else could do it- whatever ‘it’ is- better than him. As such he can be rather stubborn when trying to get what he wants and brash in his attempts to make people understand, or rather, see things the way he sees them.
M’nor is not an outwardly violent man, tending instead towards wry commentary and blithe remarks to question the intelligence of a given naysayer rather than intimidating someone in to compliance. Forced to put up with certain levels of frustration, however, he is not above losing his temper. Instead of a heated explosion M’nor’s rage is an icy burn. His voice goes low and quiet, almost soft but there’s no mistaking when someone has crossed a line for him.
At times the Bronzer can be a bit single-minded. Because he looks first to the big picture he sometimes has issues keeping in mind the importance of smaller things. This isn’t to say he’s going to forget the importance of food in a world where they’re struggling to get by, but he doesn’t really consider things like ‘oh, we’ve had fish six nights in a row, this sucks’. Instead he’ll point out that food is food and people shouldn’t complain. In some ways this makes him seem uncaring, but in others it ensures that if nothing else, he can focus on the actual needs of his people rather than the extras.
PERSONALITY STRENGTHS:
A protective and driven man, M’nor holds himself to a self imposed set of rules. Namely to safeguard not only those most important to him, but the entirety of the Weyr he and Xnveleth have pledged themselves to. He wants to do great things, achieve success for himself and those around him, and generally build the sort of future his children, and his children’s children can be safe and prosperous in. M’nor believes in hard work and dicipline, but he also believes in hope and reaching for things people tell you aren’t possible. He is a dreamer and a visionary first, looking for potential in a situation where others see only failure. Even if it means using his hands day in and out to build something new, or hunching over maps and charts and reports, he never lets himself lose focus on the bigger picture.
Despite his general state of stern, contemplative expressions, M’nor has a rather wry sense of humor that is most often noted by close friends and family. When in the company of those he is comfortable around, the Bronzer is quick to laugh and partake in a good joke. He’s not exactly a prankster by any means, but he does enjoy the lighthearted banter of a good conversation.
M’nor takes a great deal of pride in his and his dragon’s abilities, but even then, one of the few things he really lets himself be free with, is flight. The simple yet sheer joy of an open sky is one thing the Bronzer has never taken for granted nor is he against taking others for a ride when his duties allow.
Lastly, M’nor has a soft spot for children. They are the future, weyrlings, candidates, weyrbrats, and young crafters and holders alike. He works to make their world a better place not just for himself and his dragon, but for the generations that will follow them.

HISTORY: The eldest of three children Malinor was ever a watchful, protective child. Though his siblings did not become part of his life until he was nearly four turns old, once they did he quickly became their guardian and leader, gathering around him a little troup of weyrbrats. Under him they made themselves a helpful group rather than the kind that got underfoot and caused trouble.
As the son of two Dragon riders, young Malinor was convinced that one day he would have a dragon of his own. As often as he could he helped out with rider’s chores, be it oiling their dragon or oiling leathers and gear. He wasn’t above spending hours on straps and buckles, learning day by day exactly how much work went in to having a dragon of one’s own.
Nearly to his first eligible day, Malinor was searched at Mirran and stood only twice before he was approached by a haughty little Bronze who announced imperiously that the young boy would be his and no one else's despite the quiet, near approach of an equally large Brown who fled in the face of his brother’s proclamation. From that moment on Malinor was M’nor of Bronze Xnveleth whom together, they knew would do great things.
M’nor and Xnveleth strove to be the best in everything they could, and when they failed they simply tried again. When they fell they got back up. When they stumbled they paused to consider why, before going again. To say they were unstoppable would be incorrect, but to say they were more driven than much of their class would not.
When a contingent of travelers chose to seek out their own place in Mavros, the Bronze pair remained at Mirran. It wasn’t until the new Weyrhold put out a call for additional riders that M’nor and Xnveleth chose to answer the call, leaving behind the supposed safety of their home to combat an early Threadfall.
With lax preparations and uncoordinated training they found themselves struggling at first with near misses and close calls, earning a few thread scores here and there. But nothing was bad enough to keep them out of the sky, and before long the pair were flying entire threadfalls from start to finish. Before long M’nor was happy to find himself and his dragon an integral part of not only the wing, but the Weyr itself. Mavros had become his home, and to it he gave his loyalty and ambition.
