Talaria :: Green Tanith
deebear
With Zenelle keeping obsessive watch over Tevanth after his horrific injuries, she'd been trusting the rest of Mavros's dragonhealers with less pressing concerns. The brown was stable at least. He was healing, but he had a long road ahead of him, and it would not be an easy one if he was going to fly again. Zenelle was determined, however, and Talaria had faith in her teacher's abilities.
So it fell to her to check up on the weyrling green Sonath. She still remembered the little green's hatching, how everyone had been certain she would between, she had hatched sick, she wouldn't stay. But she had. It was an interesting point that the frail green had Impressed to a healer and Talaria briefly wondered, as Tanith carried her to the barracks, if the dragon had sensed that the girl would be able to help her somehow due to her background. What do you think?
Tanith snorted beneath her, I think I don't care. If she's only going to be a burden on the Weyr, perhaps she should have Betweened herself.
Talaria slapped her dragon's neck, Tanith!
The green growled, circling around to land, Any sensible dragon would.
Talaria slid off her dragon and walked around to her head, watching her lower eyes tinged with red toward her, That's a terrible thing to say, even for you, bitter old wher. Mavros needs EVERY dragon it can get!
Tanith snorted again, dismissive of her rider's scolding, We need useful dragons.
Talaria scowled at her, Enough. I'll call you when I'm ready to leave. She waved her dragon away and turned toward the barracks, making her way inside.
Tanith watched her go and turned, returning to the air, Be thankful you have a dragon willing and able to come fetch you.
Talaria ignored her. She would have preferred to have Tanith stay, to help communicate with Sonath who apparently had difficulties in that area, but she didn't want her here if she was only going to insult the little green. Her rider would do well enough anyway. She stopped off where D'rew was lounging in one of the lesson rooms, reading something, and told the man why she was there. He led her back to the girls' quarters and pointed her toward Marilsa. Thanking him, she headed over on her own.
“Marilsa?” she paused a short distance from the girl, “I'm Talaria, here under Zenelle's direction to give your Sonath a checkup. Would you mind coming outside with me?” The lighting was better outside, to start with, and Sonath could stretch out better to be seen properly, “Do you have any concerns about her you'd like addressed right away?” Marilsa would know if something was off with her dragon, after all. Or should.
