D'rave placed his hand on his right shoulder, and rolling it until some of the tension lessened. It had been an alright series of drills, all things considered. He and Oxyoth were still the least impress of the blues - they did what the could - but at the very least, they managed to keep up. Their collective value to Mavros was in Searching, anyway.
Even if that was dragged down by unfortunate candidates.
Oxyoth sighed deeply in the back of D'rave's mind. Riders with teeth, gnawing at the growing abyss of between before them, refusing to back down before the inevitable. And yet they view my choices as incorrect. Perhaps it would simply be for the best if we never Searched at all.
Hush, D'rave soothed, a near unconscious impulse at this point to send comforting thoughts - the smell of bubbly pies out of the oven, fruit piping hot and flakes of crispy crust - to his sad, mopey thread. We are here. We are valued. No-one has kicked us out yet, so I can't imagine where you even are coming from.
The blue's presence in the corner of D'rave's mind seemed only to sag more at this.
Cheerfully, D'rave ignored it. I know! Let's go on a Search. Right now! he pressed his fist to his palm, in determination. That never fails to cheer you, old sad friend of mine.
'Never' Oxyoth bemoaned, an odd concept. How can something never be, especially if you have imagined it. I cannot know of a simpler being. Taking advantage of a dragon's memory to say I never have felt what I most likely have...
Willfully, D'rave decided not to comment on that. One picked their battles when they had a sap like Oxy for their bonded.
Glancing around, he noticed that S'fin had not yet moved on. He'd rarely talked to the greenrider, but he and his dragon seemed to be good folk. Any green that managed to communicate with Oxyoth without wishing to bite his head off was a decent sort, in D'rave's mind. And the bluerider so hated to Search alone.
Waving cheerfully, he approached.
"This is sort of out of the blue, ha, no pun intended," D'rave could near about feel the disappointment Oxyoth felt in him right at that moment, "I don't suppose you've ever been interested in Searching, have you?"
"Absolute easiest thing in the world," That is insulting "why, I'd imagine your lovely green lady here would be absolutely smashing at it," She feels like a mental sack of bricks "I usually head out with some other search partners, but they're busy at the moment, so I was kind of hoping you would join?" D'rave made a self-conscious expression. "I hate going to holds by myself to be bluntly honest. So many of them want to shut their doors as soon as I mention I'm there for Mavros."
