"You are sent on an errand to a cothold outside of the weyr either related to your craft or occupation. You have to take someone with you as it is a two man job and it will require a stay overnight. Write your adventure."
Srunae :: Gold Danovelith
Sheuth. Srunae had never heard of it before, this tiny cothold on an island off the coast of Mavros. From what she had been told, it was a gathering of fishing families named for the heroic watchdragon that had protected them for many turns. Despite the small size, Sheuth naturally had just as many problems as a large cothold of its kind. Currently, they needed the assistance of a mediator, a level-headed leader of the area--presumably, Srunae. The brunette sat puzzling upon her bed, three-quarters of the way dressed for a decent flight. Long leather boots covered soft, lined tan pans, while a warm white blouse hung loosely over her frame, pinned into place by a vest. Her long, dark brown hair loosely curled at her shoulders and back while hazel eyes stared at the cold stone floor beneath her. In a bag to the side she had another set of clothes more suited to meeting with "political powers" if necessary, but from what she had gathered, these people weren't terribly formal; they were simply hardworking fellows in need of an extra set of eyes.
Either way it wasn't how the beastcrafter had hoped to spend her sevendays end.
Oh come now Srunae, pouting is unbecoming of a lady. Srunae paused, halfway into pulling on her left boot, casting her dragon a less than thrilled look. Well, you said you wanted to get out of the Weyrhold... Well of course I did; but I wanted to get out and enjoy myself, not go play politics... The young woman sighed, shaking her head as she finished pulling on her boot. Danovelith stood, shifting her growing, though still petite, form towards the ledge she shared with Sularenth, her sister, tail gently trailing behind her.
Politics are part of the job, dear. Besides, the experience will be good for us. She pointed out gently, dipping her head to her sister as she passed Sularenth's part of the weyr, croonly lightly. Srunae grumbled, lacing up her boots and grabbing another jacket to throw on over her flight leathers. Winter, of course, was taking its toll on the non-Mavros native, who found the cooler weather less and less interesting as the season continued on. These drafty seaside weyrs weren't meant to keep the warmth in... if there was one thing Srunae was going to fix when the opportunity presented herself, it would be the weyr layouts. The cold was quickly getting unbearable!
I suppose that is true; but what if-- Danovelith cut her off there, humming comfortingly. Don't start with the what ifs, darling. They aren't necessary. Srunae shook her head, waving over at Sularenth and Melana before they headed out. The other gold weyrlingpair had a dispute to focus on themselves, but theirs was not so far from the weyrhold. Srunae couldn't help but wonder why she had been given the one far enough out that she needed an escort; perhaps Talera and Karredy saw something in her more befitting the situation to solve? Srunae shrugged to no one in particular, pausing at her dragon's pale flank and idly checking her straps. Either way, the young woman was at least somewhat comforted by the thought that she would not be going alone... though her escort was Talaria. Danovelith huffed a bit, her content, green-blue eyes whirling with a string of orange for the briefest of moments. I do not know why they decided to send her with us. The queenlet said, her tone curt. Danovelith still wasn't the most comfortable around Talaria, though her beloved and the snappy greenrider had come to some sort of truce since... the incident.
Because Talaria is dependable and capable... and we have dealt with her before. Srunae responded quietly, her tone almost unsure as she hoisted herself up onto her bonded's back. The queenlet grumbled, honey-colored wings opening as she dropped off her ledge, catching an updraft and gracefully wheeling up to the height of the cliffs, setting down in an open spot. Talaria was supposed to meet them here, at this... impromptu weyrbowl, as the weyrhold lacked a proper weyrbowl. This was still a strange thing, in Srunae's eyes, but she knew a weyrbowl in the cove would be rather silly. Danovelith craned her neck around, slowly whirling eyes alighting on each dragonpair there for a moment as she sought out the greenpair to accompany them. It is because we have dealt with her before that I worry. Srunae chuckled, feeling Danovelith rifle through her memories of Talaria. They weren't all bad... most were at least tenuous, or tolerant. It was just one in particular that stood out; the first time the two women met. Srunae chuckled quietly, casting her hazel gaze about the rocky knoll, and at last spotted Talaria atop her green.
"Talaria!" She called, waving and smiling at the other woman. In some way she regretted calling attention to herself, recalling the greenrider's aversion to golds and their riders. Danovelith and herself were probably noticeable enough to start off with, but... it was an old habit, really. Srunae still wasn't used to being so... obvious. Recognizable you mean, love. Srunae subtly shook her head. Danovelith was trying to make it sound less negative, she knew, but the beastcrafter-turned-goldrider didn't quite sit well with the situation, let alone the terminology. Hopefully Talaria didn't take it poorly, Srunae calling for her attention with so many around who probably were aware of Talaria's... personality flaws. When the greenriding dragonhealer approached, Srunae tried to keep things light, opening with a customary greeting. "Hello! How are you and Tanith today?" She smiled softly, tone wavering a little before continuing, "Ready for our... trip?"
