Jorunn was slightly amused to find that her dragon had taken to staking out the beastcraft areas in his free time, but she couldn’t really say that she was surprised. Well, in fact… She was kind of surprised to find the weyrling dragons quartered so close to the beasthold. What she wasn’t surprised by was Nnamdith’s proximity to anywhere where he might just encounter a weyrling by happenstance. Nnam was magnetically attracted to babies of all sorts, and the youngest weyrlings were just the kind of lure he’d never be able to resist.
Nnamdith’s eyes flashed a gauntlet of disappointed colours when her caught sight of his rider heading toward him and he sighed heavily. As he brushed his mind against hers to voice a plea against extra drilling today the blue noticed that Jorunn wasn’t anything like as focused as she should be if she planned on extra drills. In fact there was nothing more than idle thoughts running through her mind. Well then, Nnamdith’s eye colours resettled on blues and greens, if Jorunn could be idle, Nnamdith could too.
Perhaps anyone else spying the diminutive rider would have mistaken her for someone with plans; she certainly seemed to move with purpose at a swift walk. Prehaps though someone with plans wouldn’t have stopped as Jorunn occasionally did to lean on fences and talk to the odd perching firelizard in soft tones, or reach over and rub the ears of a beast curious enough to approach her.
As she reached Nnamdith Jorunn reached up and gave him a friendly slap on the shoulder. ‘Why Nnam, whatever could you be doing out here?’ The question could only be posed with sarcasm, and the only answer Nnmdith could give was a slight guilty shift and a lengthly silence.
