Liesol had only wandered off because she was hungry and wanted to find the kitchens. She hadn't exactly expected to get lost. After all, it was supposed to be very easy to find, but perhaps she'd taken a wrong turn? Knowing herself, and her own character flaws, she probably should have known this would happen... now this place, this was most certainly not where she wanted to be.
Well, she didn't know where she was exactly. But she did know that it wasn't the candidate quarters. Or the kitchen.
Or anywhere with people in it, for that matter.
Liesol clutched the soft material of her shirt over her heart, feeling it beat rapidly as the implication sunk in. She was lost! Again! The second time in as many days! She would never be able to make it in the weyr...
"Oh no..." she said, glancing around her at the all too-similar looking walls of the lower caverns down in some-where some-place. "Oh dear. Why do they make it all look the same?"
Her other hand tensed slightly around the delicate rosy wood of her lute. It wasn't much comfort, but Liesol drew some strength from it.
That's right! All she had to do was find some nice somebody and they would tell her where she was and where she was supposed to go. Yes, just find some nice somebody...
a-a-and initiate a conversation... and t-talk to them...
No. I've gotta do this. She shook her head, trying to shove the unpleasant jitters like invading tunnelsnakes from out of her gut. I can do this. I know I can, I know I can! All I have to do is ask where I am! I can do this!
Screwing her eyes shut, Liesol ran forward before she could change her mind or before the nerves set in, determined to see it through now that she'd decided. Only, what she didn't think, was that there might be someone closer by than she thought... and as she turned around the bend she ran headl-first into them.
Liesol bounced backwards and landed on the ground, her lute skittering away and from her fingers.
