3 weeks after Dragon hatching
BT Month 7
(before Glimmer's Clutch hatches)
(before Glimmer's Clutch hatches)
Siorreya - Green Amagetith
This does not seem fun…
“Well it’s not right now maybe, but trust me, it will be fun. I promise.”
But it’s not fun nooow.
“Ama, take a deep breath, the most fun things are worth the wait.”
They are?
She stopped mid-chore to give her little bonded a stern look. She had never thought fun could be bad, or that too much fun existed, but the blonde was starting to think otherwise. Her green dragon was addicted to fun. They had had a lot of fun together.
“Are you trying to be annoying, or is this just for fun?”
The question was half serious, half teasing, and it surprised her when her little one sent a flood of morose sorrow.
I am so sorry mine, I will be better, no more annoying.
“I-I was just joking my love. It’s okay, shh it’s really okay.”
Siorreya turned from the bucket of sand and opened her arms for her small green, who climbed into her arms. She held the little dragonet, sending soothing vibes, and verbally shushing her as well. Siorreya took up scratching the green’s eye ridges and down the neck.
Siomine I am sorry, will you forgive me.
“Already done, my cloud.” Sio said softly, using her green’s pet name, a small smile on her lips as she reassured her love to her bonded. “I truly am not mad. We will just have to learn each other’s cues better, I guess!”
The smaller weyrling pulled the dragon into her chest until she felt Amagetith squirm, and she giggled as Ama’s sorrow disappeared and was replaced by a strong sudden desire for excitement.
I say we lose the basket and the egg and play a game of chase.
Siorreya put her hands on her hips, raising an eyebrow at the green. “What point of the firelizard will be fun do you not get?”
Uhh, the the fact that it can’t move and it’s stuck in an egg.
Siorreya chuckled, because in truth, her little one was right. She hadn't taken the egg from G'rett, nor informed Maz'ru of the free eggs, if she wasn't serious about having a firelizard herself. She wanted this, and maybe... Maz could teach the little firelizard to hum for her? She hoped so.
"Well, once it's hatched, you can play with it, and race it, and swim with it, even when I can't. Don't you want your own play buddy?"
Why can't you play with me?
"Well, I can play with you, I just might not be able to always cause of chores or whatnot."
But that's what you are doing now...
"Yes, but-I meant other chores, that I'll have in the future."
But that's not now, and now I want to play. Ama sounded petulant.
"Oh goodness." Sio muttered under her breath, and had positioned herself beside the basket again, piling warm sand into it, cushioning the small egg inside.
I heard that.
"I know you did. Let's think of names for the little one."
Names? It's an egg.
"Yes, but someday it will be a firelizard."
I think we should just finish this up, take it back to your cot, and maybe we will have time to play after.
"Yeah, but I was hoping to feed you after this."
What? Food?! Oh okay, food first, then play. Oh this is good, I am so hungry.
Amagetith wiggled her body, her tail whipping back and forth dangerously. Sio giggled, and stood up, basket in hand. What she didn't say to her little one, but was all too apparent to the young woman, was that there was no way they would be playing after Ama ate. Because, as hard as the green would try, her heavy lids and body's need for sleep would eventually win out in the end. Dragonets needed naps. Everyone knew it, except her little cloud, that was.
