Weyrling Muze :: Green Rylath
Muze pulled the furs over her body, cuddling into her bedding for the night – exhaustion from the excitement of the day overwhelming her. ‘Goodnight Rylath,’ she thought in a mumble, sweet sleep pulling her into darkness. There was also the comforting feeling of Rylath’s mind that exuded love and devotion, something unparalleled by any other feeling she had ever felt before. She didn’t have to wonder, it was there – pure and untainted. Rylath had chosen her. There was also the comfort that everyone she had cared about had also impressed... Her brother, Joia, the other familiar faces from those in candidate classes... Just because they weren't close, did not mean Muze had not cared about them. It was just... her. She knew how people reacted to her more cold and blunt encounters, so it was easier to be quiet... like the sleep that was pulling her deeper from consciousness.
Good night mymuze. The purr in her mind pulled her away from darkness for a moment and she opened her eyes, looking and seeing Rylath laying and looking up at her in the darkness. ‘Rylath, did you want to come up here with me?’ She wasn’t sure why she hadn’t thought about it before, maybe she had been that tired. Muze moved almost robotically as she leaned up and stuck her feet over her bed. She didn’t wait for Rylath’s tired response, but heard her murmur something like, yes, mymuze, if it will make you happy. But there was a tone, or somehow Muze knew that it would make Rylath just as pleased to cuddle up next to her.
So, it was how she had woken up, with her little hatchling curled up against her. Muze woke up to a gentle mental prodding, careful and quiet. ‘Is it morning?’ It was dark still, but it was always dark… usually her internal clock woke her up, but her body felt like it should be sleeping. It is. I know you are still tired, but everyone else is getting up… The voice in her mind was hesitant and it took her a moment to realize that it was Rylath. Her Rylath. Of course I am still here! Muze smiled, her eyes blinked tiredly open, feeling another warmth by her head and she shifted.
A chirp came from her pillow and there was a fluttering of wings. “Oh, Coyli! I’m sorry.” She said this as she shifted carefully to get up and let Rylath onto the floor. Is that what that is? A Coyli? She was not happy about me being in your bed, but I told her she needed to be quiet so you could rest. You were so tired. Did I do okay? Is that okay? “Oh, of course. Yes, this is Coyli, my firelizard.” Her eyes darted to her firelizard, smiling knowingly. She guessed that Coyli had waited in hopes that Rylath would have gone away, but gave up late that night. Coyli had attacked Vavithan (wait, V’than now… that would take getting used to) when she had spent a lot of him until the little lizard had gotten more used to his presence. "I will feed you Coyli, I just need to feed Rylath as well." Her firelizard exuded an impatience and jealousness as she chirped imperiously as she hovered over Rylath. Muze sighed and forced the message to her friend that she needed to leave and that she would call her when it was time to eat. Coyli let out one last trumpet of rebelliousness before betweening away.
"Alright, time to get ready..."
