Weyrling Cirene :: Blue Imperath
Zen
“What is this?” Her tone was a horrified whisper as she examined the flakey skin on Imperath’s leg. Cirene’s hand moved lightly over the spot and was rewarded with a growl.
Don’t touch the itch, scratch the itch! You’re making it worse.
“Did you eat in your sleep?” She accused with tight lips, grudgingly itching his hide in the spot, and trying to brush away flakes in the process. “Auhhhg…” She groaned in frustration, quickly fetching oils she kept in reserve for situations like these. It was early in the morning and there was no way she was going to eat before this problem as taken care of. She dabbed on a little oil, but knew she'd need to clean him and re-oil him and she wanted to get it done as soon as possible. The fact that her dragon was not in pristine condition had her in a mode of mild panic.
Imperath felt his life mate’s determination and his eyes began to whirl nervously. And I’m hungry, Cirene. Can we go get food? Now? Even if she was going to miss eating, he shouldn’t be punished similarly. “As long as you promise that you didn’t eat last night.” She huffed out loud, too irritated to communicate otherwise. It had been a rhetorical phrase, since she assumed he hadn’t had the gumption to find food without her, but finding some way to blame him. He was taking it personal though. I did not! I am hungry! And he forced their bond closer and spilled his hunger into her, and it almost convinced her that she needed a bite to eat before she cleaned and oiled her dragon…almost.
Her jaw line tightened and she got ready quicker than normal. Maybe I should have dry skin every morning, if you’ll get ready this quick and feed me so readily. She ignored the snide remark, pulling on a pair of boots that she cared less for so she could clean them from blood and dirt without worrying about their quality.
Cirene resisted the urge to feed him faster than normal. I can take another, see, my mouth is empty! ‘Then eat slower. It’s not good for you to eat fast. If you ate slower, I’d have another meat slice for you by the time your done swallowing. Now you have to wait till I slice another.’ Cirene sliced the next piece slowly, carving it with a meticulous hand and eye. ‘What, no witty comeback?’ Imperath stared at her, his eyes whirling with irritation.
After an agonizingly slow breakfast, Imperath took his time meandering behind Cirene as she marched purposefully down hallways toward the hot springs to bath her dragon. She held a bag over her shoulder that held some cleaning and oiling supplies. ‘Come love, it’s time to bathe so I can deal with your itchy skin properly.’
