Appearance: Cera has never looked the part of what others would consider the “normal girl”. She keeps her hair short so she doesn't have to mess with it overly much and she wears whatever clothing she can find that's comfortable as well as practical. Her movements are never hurried unless she is really needed and even then she only goes slightly faster. Her hair is the deepest shade of black with some lighter shades highlighting through here and there. Her eyes are the most notable thing about her at a bright shade of cinnamon brown. Her form is lean and lithe and lightly muscled, and she carries herself with an easy-going, relaxed sort of pose.
When standing still Cera keep one hip tilted slightly outwards and her arms are crossed around her stomach to show that she is bored. Another indication of said boredom is when she is looking right at a person with one eyebrow raised by with her brown eyes glazed over to show she really isn't listening to a word being said to her. When she's interested in something, or properly motivated, her gaze is sharp and she stands straight and shifts lightly from foot to foot as if prepared to move into action at any given moment.

Personality: Lazy, Daydreamer, Highly Intelligent, Tactical, Patient || Cera is a real interesting character to say the least. As a child, she spent much of her time avoiding anything like real responsibility even when it came to learning her chosen craft. She was known for slacking off and disappearing to go take naps whenever she could manage it. Her favorite thing to do was watch the clouds and compare how the stars looked over different parts of the sky. To those that didn't know her very well, Cera was considered lazy. The truth of the matter was very different though. Cera was unmotivated to do well, but not because she was lazy. The reason was because her mind tended to work ten steps ahead of any given situation so she had already figured out a problem before her peers had thought to take the first step in doing so. She wasn't challenged enough mentally and so she would take off to try and keep boredom at bay.
Every so often, something that hit her odd sense of justice would happen and it was then that her true colors shone through. Cera has a very tactical mind and used that to get herself and others out of situations that could have led to serious injury if left not dealt with. She very determinedly refused to leave those she considered a friend behind no matter how dangerous the circumstances turned out to be. As she got older, she began to consider what her ideal sort of lifestyle would be like. She didn't want much; just to be average and find a easy-going man to marry and have two children and that would be her life. She didn't really aspire to do great things and in turn great things were never expected of her. She also has a hard time relating to others and this provides a sort of disconnect from her peers that has proven quite detrimental in the past. Cera enjoys exploring the area around her and drawing up maps of where she's been. Eventually she'll discover a craft that encompasses this talent: Cartography. She's also strangely good at taking care of disagreements diplomatically.
Likes:
- Things being fair | Cera may seem lazy, but she also has a strong sense of justice that acts whenever someone is taking unfair advantage of another. This leads to her butting into situation she probably shouldn't, but she really can't stand things not being fair.
- Exploring | From the time she was old enough to walk, Cera has enjoying going out into the world to see what it had to offer her. She traveled the beaches near Monaco Bay Weyr and found endless amounts of little caves while she was out. She explored the Weyr where she could and the same when she moved to train at Fort. This tendency is part of what makes her a great map-maker. It also means she loves to travel.
- Making maps | From her love of exploring also came a love of mapping out the paths she made wherever she went. Sometimes it's a simple doodle to remind herself of where she'd been, and sometimes it's an outright map of the area and the landmarks she found interesting.
- Tactical Games | Things that require her mind to actively work to figure out intrigue and interest Cera. From simple games of chess to figuring out puzzles others have given up on, if it keep her mind busy, Cera enjoys doing it.
Dislikes:
- Having things expected of her that she doesn't care about | If it doesn't interest her, Cera doesn't want to do it. One sure fire way to seriously get on her nerves is to make her do something that doesn't interest her. She tends to slack off and complain when something isn't interesting, at times even falling asleep because she's so bored.
- Judgmental people | The world is full of them, and Cera hates them. People that think they're better than others based on birth, Dragonriders that expect you to kowtow to their every need, even craft masters that are so narrow-minded they can't accept change; these are things that rub Cera the wrong way and she finds it hard to interact with such people as they are always judging those around them.
- Being bored | When she doesn't have something to keep herself occupied, Cera gets bored. When she'd bored she gets into trouble. This is something she acknowledges and so she tries to never put herself into a situation where she may become bored. Boredom leads to wandering off and not doing her job right.
Strengths:
- Highly Intelligent | Cera is an extremely intelligent person, which is why it's so difficult for her to stay motivated by anything for very long. Her mind is always working on the next problem ahead of her and this 'ten steps ahead' mentality is both her greatest strength and biggest weakness. She has yet to find a problem she can't eventually solve, but it's getting her interested in solving the problem that's difficult.
- Tactical | With her active mind, Cera often has several ways out of any potential problem that could arise in her daily life. Her mind is always working out ways to get things done faster and with more efficacy. She watches the people around her and makes notes of things just in case she needs to stay away from them. She makes plans within plans to make sure she can keep herself safe.
- Patient | Despite getting easily bored, Cera is surprisingly a very patient person. She can wait for hours or days when she's working on something just to be certain she has all the information she needs to get it right. When something is worth it enough to warrant her to be, Cera has endless amounts of patience and never gets frustrated by what she'd doing. This trait doesn't extend to those things she doesn't like to do, however.
Weaknesses:
- Lazy | Cera tends to use the least amount of effort possible to get something done. If it's boring, she'll take all day to do it because it isn't worth the effort to her to actually hurt and get it done. She'd rather sleep than bother with people and their issues; thank you very much.
- Daydreamer | It may come as a surprise to those around her, but Cera is a dreamer. She thinks about the little things in life that she enjoys and when she's not doing those things she's spending her time daydreaming about being anywhere else than where she is. Most often when she's daydreaming, she's also cloud watching.
- Has trouble connecting with others | Cera doesn't play well with others. They think and act too differently from her and she doesn't understand why everyone makes such a big deal out of having friends. Playing games, teasing, pranks, these are things that don't register in her book as interesting so she doesn't bother. This means, though, that Cera has a hard time relating to the world around her. This disconnect is likely to cause her trouble later in life.
Fears:
- Intimacy | Letting others get truly close to her - letting someone truly know her - is something that unnerves Cera to no end. She can't explain the why of it, but it's easy to tell when she's getting attached to someone by the level of panic she tends to show when in that person's presence. It's not just about physical intimacy but emotional as well. It's too unpredictable and she doesn't like it.
- Falling in Love | In line with her fear of intimacy, Cera fears giving her heart to another person. She worries that letting someone into her life that deeply is just asking for something bad to happen that takes it all away. If someone is close to her, they can hurt her, and to Cera that is unacceptable. Despite this, part of her still wants someone that is her's and her's alone.
- Impression | Perhaps it is a strange notion for someone that has agreed to Stand at a hatching or two, but Cera is actually terrified of the notion of Impression. She knows it's life-changing and that a dragon is it's rider's missing half, but this honestly scares her to death. She worries about being good enough and about changing so much she doesn't recognize herself just because a dragon chose her. Regardless of if it actually works that way or not, she can't help but be afraid. Though in all honesty, she doesn't realize that it's something she's afraid of happening. If she did, she never would have agreed to stand. But perhaps her biggest fear with Impression is not Impressing at all. Of being always seen unworthy by the hatchling dragons until her time is up. It's an odd contradiction.
Goals: At this point she's not really overly motivated to do much of anything beyond explore and making her maps. She's giving standing another chance, but doesn't really think much about the future.

History: Cera is the product of a one night stand gone wrong. She isn't aware of who her parents are, only that she was deemed a mistake by her mother and that her father never even knew she existed. This fact doesn't bother her in the least. She was left, just after being born, with a Healer at Monaco Bay Weyr where she then was placed into a Creche to be raised. She never thought much of the apparent abandonment as she got the attention she needed from her Creche-Mother. She grew up and took to a craft halfheartedly and only because it was expected of her; aka to make her Creche-Mother happy.
She took up the Harper craft as it seemed the easiest to her and allowed her to doodle the pathways she found without too much interruption. As a young child she mapped out the Weyr; seeking out all the hidden places and leaving no part of her home untouched by her rampant, if subdued, curiosity to see everything there was offered to her. She had no interest in the other children and didn't really understand why playing was so important to them when she found their games completely boring. Instead she made games for herself; games where she explored new places and discovered hidden lands in far away places.
Like most of those born into a Weyr, Cera became curious about what being a Candidate was like. So when they needed more bodies on the sands for a hatching, she Stood. She did this twice over the next turn until she decided it was boring and being a crafter might be less dull for her. She was fourteen turns when she finally decided on being in the Harper craft seriously and it wasn't long before she was sent to Fort Hold for proper training. She went, and tried to keep herself motivated enough not to be sent back to the Weyr. It was about two turns later when she found out her exploring and map-making had a place in her craft.
That was when she started getting trained into Cartography and she found it was a fun and interesting challenge for her that she enjoyed each and every day. She learned something new every day and her instructors always looked for ways to keep her mind active and challenged as they realized that was how she learned the best. For another turn she learned as much as they were willing to teach her about something she enjoyed. When then she was asked to accompany a group going to map out the area around the recently formed Revnan Hold, she was excited to see where it took her.
It was there though that she found herself Searched for another Weyr. She was confused, but thinking about it she decided it might be time to see if being a Candidate was going to be interesting this time. So now, at seventeen turns, she has gone to Mavros Weyr to try standing. She may only stand once or twice to decide, and if it turns out to still be dull she'd just go back to what she had been doing.
